The AFC got a lot more interesting with the Gronk surgery news. I know they have Bennett, but I think they're really going to miss Gronk blocking for the RBs.

3rd back surgery? Gronk is a lot younger than Romo but I'm not sure how long he'll last with these back issues.

And Zimmer had eye surgery so he won't coach tonight. Special teams coach will be the HC.

Could be the end of Gronk's career at least as the best TE in the game.

With his loss and the absolute terrible defense for the Pats I don't see them getting very far in the playoffs.

Former USC and Jets RB Joe McKnight was murdered today in a road rage incident.

Very sad

Eh, who's his competition? Reed and Eifert are hurt all the time too. Guys like Olsen and Delanie are over 30. Of course Graham is (finally?)coming back to form from his injury.

I can't decide if Gronk's injury is a result of the Madden curse or just the usual injury curse Gronk has. Sure was playing with fire taking that cover spot though. Alternately they could have put the Bengals on the cover.

Maybe Kelce for the Chiefs? I thought he was the second best after Gronk this year. He can do a lot of Gronk-like things.

Should have been a penalty hitting Bradford there at the end. Lucky.

Well that was ugly. Time for the "good teams find ways to win" cliche I guess.

We don't need two teams in LA even though it is such a huge market. Especially when both teams are mediocre at best.

That's what I was thinking as well. The L. A. football fans don't want them, the Rams sure as hell don't want them in Kronkeworld, the Charger fans don't want them to move. Everyone loses here.

I wonder what, if any, affect this will have on the Raiders move. That so-called "stadium deal" in Oakland is really just political cover, made without any participation of the Raiders organization, pledging $200 of public funds that haven't been approved and in all likelihood, requiring Davis to sell an ownership stake of the Raiders which makes the whole thing a non-starter. From what I read there really isn't any owner who is likely to vote NO on the move to Vegas, though there is understandably a lot of lip service to Oakland at this point.

Given their quality of play lately and the large fanbase here, I still think the Raiders moving to LA makes a lot of sense, but I'm not sure the Rams would be too happy about that.

Sure, the Raiders would be welcome in LA, but it's the Chargers that are moving there. The Raiders are moving to their own stadium in Vegas.

The deal the owners struck with the Rams gave them the right to move to the LA market and build a mega-complex in Hollywood Park if and only if they agreed to share the stadium with one other team. The Chargers had first shot if hey couldn't get stadium funding, and if they could (which seemed to be incredibly unlikely, and actually failed miserably) then the Raiders would be allowed to move there instead. Marc Davis saw the writing on the wall and whipped up this fast-tracked, publicly and privately funded stadium deal in Vegas. Amazingly it didn't require a public vote and is approved and is now only waiting on 24 NFL owners to vote YES in January.

Roger is absolutely opposed to the Raiders move, but he works for the owners and has to abide by what they want. I don't know how he actually feels about the Chargers move to LA, but since that language was included in the Rams deal, it's kind of irrelevant at this point.

And it's official - San Diego, the most miserable sports city in America, will never see a major league sports championship. (The Padres sure aren't going to bring one home in the next century...)

Thanks, Roger!

(And the 1963 AFL championship doesn't count since that league was considered to be minor/secondary league back then - like the USFL in the mid 80's. The AFL just came along before the NFL expanded to take all those markets. It was still the lesser Pro Football league at the time.)

There has to start being some penalties for refs missing these calls and affecting outcomes of games. The fact that there isn't is part of the problem. So they don't get a playoff game - who cares. They need to start losing either cash or weekly assignments. Or move to full time refs. Something.

They can take away your team but they can never take away your crazy-awesome Fight Song!

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Week 13 - Playoff Push Begins

Why doesn't the NFL award Las Vegas an expansion team and then they wouldn't have to worry about the Raiders moving?

What happens if the Chargers move to LA and half the people who were Rams ticket holders switch over to the Chargers? Seems like the Rams have the most too lose when another team moves into their market plus it doesn't help matters that the Rams suck-Big Time.

Could be worse, they could be getting the Browns.

Hmm...the Los Angeles Browns....I need to think some more on this.
