2016-17 NBA Regular Season Thread

I'm looking forward to the start of the season, especially with how the NBA decided to cancel the NBA finals and declare no winner

Ok, maybe not. It'll be interesting if the Warriors super team actually turns people away from watching this year like many claim, or becomes must see TV the way people did actually tune in to watch Miami and root against them.

I just went down the list of ESPN's power rankings for the poll options.

Unless something dramatic happens like injuries or a playoff upset, I'm anticipating Cavs/Warriors 3 next June.

Crap, forgot to include the Knicks since they're a super team.

I don't follow the NBA as closely as many of you, but how many teams realistically have a shot at winning the finals? I recall the Rockets team of the 90s doing so as a lower seed, but it's always seemed to be a handful at most that have a legitimate chance at a title.

In the West, the Warriors are the overwhelming favorite. There is no other team even close to the talent they have.

Cavs are probably the favorite in the East, but there are a few other teams who could potentially upset them along the way like Toronto, New York or Boston.

Short of widespread, major injuries, that affect one or both teams, I expect a total repeat of last year. Including the Cavs besting the Warriors in the finals.

I don't know who will win by more points tonight, the Warriors or the Cavaliers.

Spurs? The only missing part is their backcourt, but if Green can find his range again, they can easily be a threat. They have the best lockdown defender in the game and Gasol/LaMarcus will cause problems for any team.

And if the Cubbies can shake their curse, Clippers should be able to. Not to mention both CP3 and Blake are playing for a fat contract in the offseason.

I'm looking forward to Rondo, Wade, and Butler ignore everything Hoiberg says, just like last years team, and it to implode when they fight over shots.

I don't see Rondo caring about jacking up more than 10 shots a game. Dude is a triple double machine.

Wish I had made a bet in Vegas. Knew Spurs and Cavs would spank that ass.

I don't feel so bad about the Knicks getting drubbed on the road by the Champs after the newly anointed Warriors got their assholes drilled at home. Way to go Spurs!

Wow, Warriors lose their home opener by 29.

Every NBA fan outside of No. Cal is cheering and laughing their ass off tonight.

http://www.fox5vegas.com/story/33489...-for-las-vegas

MGM Resorts Executive pursuing NBA team to relocate to Las Vegas.

The new T-Mobile Arena would be where they could play at.

So are there any glaring candidates? I don't know. I don't see any current team that's in dire straits in their current market right now.

Re: 2016-17 NBA Regular Season Thread

This is how you know this season defies all expectations. The 76ers kind of resemble a basketball team here in the first. Also how long before Westbrook goes off on Oladipo for jacking up shots?

And the classy 76er fan in the first row giving Westbrook double middle fingers.

At least the fan got kicked out. Nice to see 76ers put up a fight. Question is, did Philly get better or are the Thunder just that bad without Durant...

Nice opening night win by the Lakers. They're a long way from respectable right now, but at least they're pointed in the right direction. Don't know if I agree with Luke starting Swaggy P and bringing Clarkson off the bench. You gotta start your best five.
