Currently starting Ertz vs NYG over Eifert (Q) @HOU but not feeling good about it.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Fantasy Bowl XXVIII.

My opponent had 5 early game players vs my Robert Kelley. Aaron Rodgers (4 passing TDs, 1 rush TD, 22 points), L. McCoy (Rush TD, 6 pts), M. Bennett (Rec TD, 6 pts), plus home field advantage (1 pt) saw me down 35-0. When the 4pm games started, 4 of my players took the field against his final two guys, with me having a pair of Chiefs tomorrow night to try to seal the deal.

By halftime, I had a TD from David Johnson, a pass from Andrew Luck, and two Will Lutz FGs. Factoring in XPs from Lutz and Vinatieri, I was down 36-17. I figured, if I could trim the lead to less than 6, I'd be willing to take my "sudden victory" chances on Sunday Night. Just had to keep Crabtree and Vinatieri shut down in the 2nd half. Luck threw another TD (4 pts), and though Vinatieri kicked the XP, Lutz got that back for me right away, making it 37-22.

Then the best 3 minutes of my fantasy season happened. Luck rushed a TD and the Colts went for two, getting another single for Luck. 37-29. Down eight. We were back in the game. A minute later, Lutz had kicked another FG and David Johnson punched it in from the one, giving me a 38-37 lead. 16 points in 3 minutes.

The Colts drove the field and settled for a Vinatieri FG, dropping me back to 40-38. But after Palmer threw a bomb to set the Cards up at the one, Johnson tallied his 3rd TD of the Championship powering me back to a 44-40 lead. And with the Raiders kneeling down to end their game against Indy, Vinatieri and Crabtree were done.

The Inquisition had come back from 35 down to win Fantasy Bowl XXVIII, not even needing our Chiefs tomorrow. The I's have it!

"Cause the Inquisition's here and it's here to staaaay!!!"

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Robert Kelly had 4 TDs vultured from him with two by Cousins running it in and Chris Thompson.

I thought Brady would have have a bigger game vs the Jets.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Interesting path in my championship game. With Eifert questionable, I started Ertz in the Thursday game with poor results, though OBJ was good. Then my opponent got 81 from Rodgers and Jordy in the early game, and I figured it was over. Then at 12:30 Pacific, I got a notification that Martin was a healthy scratch, and of course all my backups were in the early games, so I picked up and put in my lineup, in succession, Charles Sims, Jacquizz Rodgers, and finally Alfred Blue. Blue gave me 14, while Rodgers or Sims would've had 13 or 4. Meanwhile, my Brees-Cooks stack was only OK, but my opponent was getting single digits to keep me in striking distance. Sunday night I got 24 from Ware and Tyreek Hill while my opponent got a bagel from the Denver D. So now he has an 11-point lead with Ebron against my Dan Bailey. It's not impossible, but I figure I'm doomed if Ebron does anything, unless Bailey has a Justin Tucker-like game.

I have a 3.3 point lead going into tonight's game...
I have Elliot, he has Dez.

I'm walking away with 1900 or 200

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Anybody else have a stupid championship game next week? Man, that's such a stupid way to set up a league. Our finals are 2 weeks (this week and next). After tonight I'm up by 10 points ... I really want to take a title home in this league! My opponent has Zeke, so I'm really hoping the Cowboys don't play him much at all next week.

Are there any possible big plays at RB for next week that could be found on the waiver wire? I'm dropping 3 guys from my bench that I know have no shot at starting for (or against) me next week: JRichard, Crowder, and Farrow. Even if I don't start any of these pickups, I'd rather have them on my bench than risk them being started against me. Guys I'm looking at are:

McFadden for the Cowboys (though Zeke will probably get some work, I can't imagine it being too much). On road @ Philly could be tough matchup

Who's the backup in Pittsburgh now? Is DWilliams healthy, or is it Toissant now? Playing the Browns, whoever it is could have a huge game.

Alex Collins for Seahawks. Rawls may not play and Collins is last RB standing. Has great matchup (Niners rank dead last in stopping opposing RBs from fantasy scoring).

Hillman might be last man standing in SD (if Gordon isn't back). Even so, chargers running game has been bad and they have a tough matchup (Chiefs)

I would have easily won my title game this week had I not lost in the opening round by a few points. But thems the breaks.

If only Golden Taint could have caught one or two more passes I would not have lost by a point but it is my fault for benching Cousins and starting Fig Newton.

I hosed it up ... I benched Theilen in place of Tate or Mckinnon and Witten in place of Henry ... of well, second is not bad. Was a fun season

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Well, I lost my championship game in my primary league, unable to overcome the Rodgers-Jordy stack. I sneaked into the second seed in the final week, got the bye, then blew out my opponent in the first game and lost to the top seed in the championship, so I can't complain. I would've loved it if picking up Alfred Blue at the last minute had put me over the top, though.

The other league where I was in the playoffs, I was the top seed but lost both games. Losing Melvin Gordon and Julio at the end hurt me, along with Brady's regression (he put up decent numbers last week but in only three quarters).

Got crushed in the title game in the league I run, losing by 65 pts. Have a pitiful 2-6 record in title games in that league, though 8 title game appearances in 13 years ain't too shabby. Once D. Johnson and Baldwin started going off in the ARI/SEA game, I was toast. Even if I started Russell over Big Ben (or had an optimal lineup), would not have made a difference.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Won third place where I had Deandre Hopkins, Emmanuel Sanders, and Randall Cobb as my top WRs.

Don't know how they happened unless Leveon Bell made up for all their faults. Jimmy Graham probably put up better numbers than all of those guys.

Funny how delusional I was in Sept and Oct thinking a team with Eli, Bortles, Forte, Gordon, Mike Evans, ODB, Eifert, Rob Kelly, Spencer Ware, Moncrief, and the Vikings D was going to win the title and I was planning who I would start in week 16 over Eli since he played in Philly after Eli thrashed the Lions in week 15.

Somehow I finished 10-4 and the guy who had Luck, Cooks, and Allen Robinson with a 6-7 record wins the league and I closed out with 4 consecutive losses.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

And getting next to nothing from David Johnson, Kelce, and Cooks most likely ruined my chances of winning the title Need to root for Stafford, Jordy Nelson, and Zack Zenner to have mediocre games to have a shot. Week 17 fantasy championship matches are so asinine. Regardless of outcome, I'm pretty sure I'm done with this league. Week 17 title match, too many deadbeat managers, dumb waiver and draft settings, and trade-veto happy managers. And considering it's mostly a friends and family league, utterly impersonal and dead for league chatter.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Sorry, brainee. Hope you can get into a league here next year.

Week 17 championships are such BS. After 16 weeks of scouring the waiver wire, I still haven't heard of half the guys putting up big numbers today.

I won the championship by 1.3 points!!! I thought that hail mary killed us. We thought the game was a wrap after Stafford's INT and were picking out victory atavars, only to look up and see Stafford hit that pass. I thought it cost us, but barely held on.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

Ended up with a 3rd place finish driven by the Arizona defense (39.5 points!). To think I almost started Pittsburgh instead ...

We have two playoff rounds ... #1 vs. #2 in each division (North and South) in weeks 14 & 15, Championship and 3/4 game in weeks 16 & 17. I hate two week games. Most of the guys in the league I'm in bitched about players being rested in the late weeks. I said "build a team who can win late in the season." I lost out.

If we played a full 15 games and then regular games for our playoffs in weeks 16 and 17, I would have won it all. Instead I go 3-1 over the last four weeks, but get beat up so bad in that ONE loss that I wind up third. The two teams playing in the championship were both 2-2 in the last four weeks. I hate two-week games.

Congrats to all the Champs and high-finishers out there! Hopefully I can get into a league here next year (didn't check my PM quick enough this year).

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2016

I run a points league, so it goes through week 17. No playoffs, just point totals to determine winner. Came down to last night's game for 1st place. Only 2 guys had shot to take home the championship. One guy had Stafford and the other guy had Zenner. Looks like the guy with Zenner won the league championship by .45 points.
