I dont get it. How does some of the last 4 in get seeded ahead of teams that won conference tournaments? Could it be the last 4 in terminology that is messing me up?

Last 4 in are at-larges. They get seeded based on where the committee figures them compared to the entire top-68.

I have zero interest in the other 2 tourneys. But the CiT and Vegas 16 could not fill out there entire fields due to non-interest from schools they tried to invite. I think I saw the CiT came up 6 teams short (so they'll have some byes) and the Vegas 16 could only get 8.

edit: Ooops. I forgot there's also the CBI.

I get but it seems to me that they are only in because they extended the field beyond the 64. Maybe I think they should go to 8 at the end but they play and are seeded 16th.

I really have a hard time seeing the purpose of the NIT (much less any other tournaments at this point .. or for the last decade plus for that matter).

It must make some money, but I would almost rather see the NCAA add another 16 or so teams and expand the play in rounds/maybe have a few byes in the first round.

Does the NIT winner even bother to print up "NIT Championship" shirts anymore?

It used to crack me up when I went to Pauley back in the 80s and they had TEN NCAA Championship banners hanging there and one NIT banner hanging right next to it. They've taken it down since.

Well I'm adamantly opposed to expanding the Tourney. It should go back to 64 but that ship has sailed.

And even if they did expand, lesser tournaments will exist. The NIT would still exist, so it's a moot point.

Just like the number of bowls keeps growing.

I think the NIT has a place. But I don't pretend to care about it when Bucknell isn't involved. I don't even care about it when Maryland is involved. I just wish Bucknell drew a power conference team rather than Monmouth. Nothing against Monmouth, but Bucknell just doesn't get many opportunities to play power conference teams. When Bucknell upset Arizona in the 2012 NIT, that was awesome.

Did 2 money brackets, basically pivoting around the East (champ/runnerup/other F4s):
1. UNC / KU / A&M / MSU
2. MSU / KU / A&M / UK

I just think if UNC makes the F4, they'll win. The effect the dome has on shooting should help them since they struggle from outside. But I could just as easily see them falling in the S16 or E8. In bracket 1, I put UNC/WVU as my East Elite 8. In bracket 2, I flipped it with UK/Xavier.

NIT: #3 Washington pulled one out against #6 Long Beach State, 107-102. They trailed big in the first half then rallied to get close by halftime.

So much for my NIT interest. Bucknell went toe to toe with Monmouth for about 30 minutes, but Monmouth started raining 3s after that to win going away. Good luck to them going forward.

The 1-seed Bonnies got knocked off by 8-Wagner.
