I expect Disney or ATT to make a bid any day now.

ESPN is losing Disney a LOT of money. Disney wants nothing more to do with sports lol

I know. I was just referencing how the two companies seem to be in a race to own everything. Could you imagine WWE under Disney banner?

I would hate to turn on Monday Night RAW and actually have them show wrestling. Plus have announcers who have freedom to speak instead of being puppets. Same goes for most of the wrestlers.

It feels like Disney has owned them for over ten years anyway.

Well, they do have that working relationship with ESPN lol. And instead of a working relationship with Scooby Doo, we will get more Muppets and insert Mickey.

Anyone remember the last time a women's match headlined a PPV?

Re: The 2016 Pro Wrestling Thread

Lousy night overall. I swear the should have retired the cell after Taker and Mankind. Matches never come close to that.

Had high hopes for the women's match but I dozed off near the end

Owens Seth was decent until Jericho came in.

Cruiser Match was DOA.

I'm so sorry guys. Done with the horrible predictions.

the highlight of RAW for me was the New Day dressing as 3 different gimmicks for the same wrestler.

Re: The 2016 Pro Wrestling Thread

Why do they keep passing the Women's Title back and forth? Title really is starting to mean nothing. And 2nd straight PPV in a row they have the main title go last if I'm not mistaken. SMH

OMG that pumpkin match was straight out of the Vince Russo playbook. I think we're close to the end of Gallows and Anderson, they've just handled them so poorly.

Ever since the brand split I've just been so disinterested. I find myself fast forwarding thru so much more

Agreed. I sadly only read what happens now. The title for both brands is a joke (I'm all for cool jobber stories, but no reason for James to be going AJ) and they just aren't making Owens look like a champ. He's got the Sheamus feel to it like last year sadly (was it last year?). I didn't even watch HITC and I have the Network. I'll probably cancel it before I get charged for the next payment and sign up for a free month to watch SS and just wait until Rumble and HOPE something special and exciting happens.

Re: The 2016 Pro Wrestling Thread

I can't say I have much interest in the main product, but the network is worth it for NXT alone.

Smackdown seems like a little step up from NXT. It's a struggle to watch it. The tag champs are acouple of jobbers.

I would rather have them do away with the split and reform The Shield.

Re: The 2016 Pro Wrestling Thread

I must be in the minority, because I'm generally enjoying the product more after the brand split. The biggest plus is not seeing them trot out the same guys in back to back shows. They already milk feuds for too long, but seeing -- say -- Ambrose and AJ interact once a week as opposed to in back to back episodes Raw and Smackdown is a major plus. Having the same stars and feuds presented on Monday AND Tuesday every week just ran their (sometimes already played out) stories thin, and I feel like this has opened them up to try harder in many areas. It's far from perfect, but I find the overall vibe much improved.

Nov 15th Smackdown is at the arena near my house. It's the 900th episode and they are billing the Undertaker as showing up.

Re: The 2016 Pro Wrestling Thread

Billy Corgan is going on crazy on twitter.

“YEP: just-published NY Post article asserts that judge in case ruled against my receiving 2.7 [million] in Anthem swap deal. This is FALSE. Case OPEN.

“Today, I’m FORMALLY requesting repayment of my ‘so-called’ loan by TNA, which I’m told stalled because they didn’t know where to FIND ME. Laughs aside, [I had] put up 1.8mil for express purpose of becoming equity stakeholder and helping talented roster. Any other assertion is FALSE. So if I’m not repaid today in full and without conditions attached, I’ll be forced to once more pursue remedy by taking TNA stock via court.

“Remember it was Anthem and not I who stood in open court and told judge they were prepared to PAY and in turn FUND good ol’ solvent TNA … a company which they claim they have no business deal for behind the scenes, yet have released two press releases saying they are TAKING OVER. So far be it from me to accuse someone I don’t know of bending truth to win a case. That just wouldn’t be nice, and I believe in being nice.

Last thing: despite being called a [predatory] lender by every arm of TNA propaganda I can still convert to 36 percent stock or sell option to highest bidder. And that ‘option’ if you will to convert my … loan to 36 percent stock or auction it off to a [pro wrestling] titan doesn’t require a court order.
imagine he sells his shares to WWE? hahahaha that would be hilarious

Re: The 2016 Pro Wrestling Thread

Regarding WWE and TNA stock I don't think McMahon is that stupid. He just wants the tape library and maybe some other assets. He does not want anything to do with the debt or countless litigation the company is going through. Don't see WWE buying the stock, sorry Billy you made a poor investment decision.

Brooke Hogan said Hulk is negotiating with Vince for a Wrestlemania return.

I wonder if they will book him as a heel. Or if they book him as a babyface if he'll get majorly booed.
