I voted NL because it's a Royals loaded sham of a team without Cabrera.

I have to admit that Bryant kinda makes me want to watch the HR derby for the first time in eons.

Re: MLB 2015 Week 15 July 13-19 "All-Star Edition"

Lineups:

AL All-Star lineup:
• Trout CF
• Donaldson 3B
• Pujols 1B
• Cruz DH
• Cain RF
• Jones LF
• Perez C
• Altuve 2B
• Escobar SS

NL All-Star lineup:
• McCutchen CF
• Frazier 3B
• Harper RF
• Goldschmidt 1B
• Posey C
• Rizzo DH
• Peralta SS
• Pederson LF
• LeMahieu 2B

I would have put Jones in the 5 spot.

The starting line-ups matter less and less since they only play a few innings.

My only gripe...why aren't guys like Harper and Goldschmidt in it?

I don't follow baseball as closely since the Brewers suck, so sadly I don't even know who half these guys are.

Yeah, the derby is not bad. I tuned in to see Bryant and watched the last 30 seconds of Pujols' turn eliminating him.

I saw the lineup above but didn't even notice that Rizzo was in there as the DH, which is cool.

They just matter for our Sheep game.

Goldy declined. He said he won't ever accept. He is one of those guys that doesn't go up there to mash the ball. It just happens, so he said he is afraid he will mess himself up if he goes into the derby.

Wow, Frazier wins it. Whoever thought up this new idea, kudos to them. Made it exciting to the end.

That was a fun new format, I enjoyed it (even without my Cincy bias).

I'm glad I tuned in to watch it. It was pretty exciting with the new format and cool to see the home player win it.

I wasn't going to watch it either, but decided to at the last minute.

Much needed change to a tired format.

Now if they could get rid of Boomer...

Thought the derby was excellent. Loved the format change, loved the commentator change inbetween Boomer and the B team. He's really looking old these days. Having the hometown hero made it that much more fun to watch and root for Frazier.

Harper declined to join because his Dad who pitched for him in the past just had shoulder surgery I believe.

Did they really need to tack on a bonus round for each player? I think the timed aspect did probably hurt the length of the homers. Except for Pederson and maybe Prince Fielder, we've seen balls go much farther in prior derbies.

Double the amount of HRs this derby as compared to last year's. That is a success

I'm digging how they've dressed-up downtown, particularly how the Scripps Building is a 500-ft tall Mr. Red.

This week is taking the sting out of a lost season and the inevitability of the club selling off it's best players and starting a rebuilding cycle - likely starting in the next few weeks. Man, I miss these guys....

I loved the revised Derby rules. I always seem to enjoy watching it (minus Berman's tired old act) but this year they really seemed to have come up with the best overall structure.

It would be awesome that if, tonight, as a sign of goodwill - Manfred reinstates Rose ... he can announce it during the 7th inning stretch.

Berman really should be kicked off the HR derby. It's time for someone else that much of the audience doesn't loathe.

I concur.

He's the reason I stopped watching the HR Derby years ago. I tried it with the sound off, but it's not the same without the crowd sounds, etc. But Berman - fuck no.
I can stomach a lot of jive-ass announcers in small doses but Berman is simply a dealbreaker for me.

He's everything I despise about sports announcers.....
