Re: 2015 NFL Preseason Countdown Clock

It's that time of year when we actually look forward to NFL Preseason football. Of course, once it gets here we'll quickly get fed up with it and will begin harping about how long and boring it is, why can't we shorten it and get to the regular season more quickly, do we really have to see all the 2nd and 3rd string players go at it week after week?

But I tell ya what.... I'll take lousy 3rd string preseason football over baseball (yawn), golf (YAWN), fem hoops (YAAWWWWN), NASCAR (zzzzzz), or any of the other summer "sports". I thank God for July sports, because it makes me appreciate the good ol' N-F-of-L just that much more.

So yes, Hank, I *am* ready for some football! Training Camp opens in 27 days.

I really feel the countdown starting. I usually don't tune into baseball until September so this is the lull time or me. Bring on Pre Season Football!

I'm thinking of traveling to Canton to see the induction and Vikings/Steelers game. Anyone here going?

While in Ohio you should consider stopping by at Triangle Park in Dayton, site of the first ever NFL game:

Heck, between being home to the first professional baseball club, to being the land that gave us pro football, kinda makes this hometown boy proud to be from SW Ohio.

Really looking to this pre-season. Lots of teams, including the Seahawks, have a lot of roster spots to fill and very intriguing candidates to fill them.

I'm not going this year, but I have been a couple times prior. I'll warn you that it is chaos with a ton of people. The game itself is not so bad, but it's not a good time to actually experience the Hall if that's one of your reasons to go.

Thanks. Yeah, I've been to the Hall a few times already, so it's more to visit the family I have there and to see a Viking get inducted. I'm sorta pissed at myself for never going to see the sports heroes of my youth get inducted (Tarkenton and Page), so figure I should at least see one Vikings star from that era get in.

But I just booked a cruise for the week before, so I'm now likely not going.

Re: 2015 NFL Preseason Countdown Clock

Some friends went to Seahawks camp yesterday and posted scrimmage pictures.

And I wondered whether to bump this thread instead of the off-season one.

AT&T hopes to score with football fans who want to watch DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket but can’t put a satellite dish on their apartment, condominium, townhouse, or college dorm — or have another obstruction. The telco just expanded its streaming option to those who can’t subscribe to the No. 1 satellite company, which AT&T just acquired.

NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV will cost $49.99 a month, and offer live out-of-market NFL games to computers, mobile devices, major game consoles, and smart TV devices including Roku and Chromecast. Students at any four-year university can pay $24.99 a month for NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV U.

Devoted fans willing to pay $89.99 a month can also watch Red Zone Channel, and DirecTV Fantasy Zone, with additional data and analysis for fantasy football devotees.

Re: 2015 NFL Preseason Countdown Clock

I'm happy to be a fan of an in-market team and for having a cable provider that has Redzone because I don't know what prison rape feels like but I imagine it's a lot like paying for Sunday Ticket.

Re: 2015 NFL Preseason Countdown Clock

The HOF game with no AP or Big Ben drew bigger ratings than the Stanley Cup finale.

So who are the guys who want a longer regular season?

As Pro Football Talk noted, that 6.9 rating is a higher overnight rating than Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, Game 1 of both the NBA Eastern and Western Conference finals, the Indy 500 and Game 1 of both the American League and National League Championship Series.

I don't know if it's mentioned elsewhere, but there's a free Redzone preview for a few weeks.

Re: 2015 NFL Preseason Countdown Clock

Well shit on me .... NFL Network just blacked out Chargers game because of the bullshit CBS/DIRECT-TV ordeal.
