Got the team the least wanted the Wild to see, but oh well. Just happy to be there after how this team looked in January.

Speculation around here that Patrick Kane could be cleared for full contact in practice tomorrow and play in Game 1 on Wednesday

I'd rather they make DAMN sure he's fully healed first. Stupid collarbones...

If he's not, at least see how the first couple games go before throwing him out there.

Richards and Krueger good to go?

Kruger played last night so he should be fine.

Richards and Timonen are listed as questionable, but Richards should play, haven't heard much about Kimmo

I thought that was awesome, but then disappointed to see that 4 of the 5 teams are playing in head-to-head matchups making sure that at least 2 of them are eliminated in the first round.

Oh, and, *all wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man* YAY, the Pens made the playoffs!

I have some slight optimism with the Pens. They were so gassed down the stretch playing with 5 D because of injuries and the cap. Having a few days rest and the ability to call up Harrington and Dumoulin should help a lot. They should also replace Adams and maybe a couple other forwards with some young guys who are actually going to compete. Kunitz needs to turn thing around quick, or I'd be in favor of Kapanen replacing him, even with his lack of NHL experience. They need guys who are going to compete. Fleury is having the best year of his career and it's being wasted.

Re: 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

It will be interesting to see what kind of ratings they get for playoff hockey on the USA Network especially when Canadian teams are playing each other.

Re: 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Not so bold first round predictions:

Sens upset Canadians

Tampa Bay over Detroit

Rangers over Penguins

Homer pick: Islanders over Caps in 7

Don't follow the West all the much but here goes:

Wild over Blues

Blackhawks over Preds

Winnipeg over Anaheim

Vancouver over Calgary but I admit I know nothing about either team

Re: 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Just got Chicago Tribune email alert. Patrick Kane is cleared for contact in practice. They said his status is still questionable for game 1, but it is sounding like he will get in the first round of the playoffs. Much better than the 12 week time table. A setback is always possible, but this is huge if he comes in and plays with fresh legs

Sweet .. up to probable for game 1

http://www.foxsports.com/nhl/story/c...-injury-041315

The Chicago Blackhawks could get a much-needed boost in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Right winger Patrick Kane, who has been sidelined for almost two months because of a fractured left clavicle, is expected to be cleared for full contact practice on Monday and listed as probable for Game 1 of the team's playoff series against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday, Comcast SportsNet Chicago reports.

Re: 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

TV Note - NBC has regional coverage on Saturday afternoon with Game #2 of the Detroit-Tampa Bay/Minnesota-St. Louis series being scheduled for 3:00 pm ET.
Some markets will receive the Red Wings-Lightning game on NBC and the Wild-Blues game on NBCSN.
The remaining markets will receive the Wild-Blues game on NBC and Red Wings-Lightning game on NBCSN.

LaxBandit - As to what game is shown on what channel - my guess they make things simple and split up the country this way.
If your NHL designated team is in the Eastern Conference - you will get the Eastern Conference series game - Detroit at Tampa Bay - on NBC.
If your NHL designated team is in the Western Conference - you will get the Western Conference series game - Minnesota at St. Louis - on NBC.
So we here in Buffalo, NY will get the Detroit at Tampa Bay game on NBC since the Buffalo Sabres is our NHL team (DOH!) and they play in the Eastern Conference.
Which means yours truly will be watching hockey on NBCSN as I'm more interested in the Minnesota at St. Louis game due to all the ex-Sabres on the Wild.

That's a pretty cool promtion. They seem to be pushing the bracket aspect of the playoffs pretty hard now.

First St. Louis v Minnesota match-up in the play-offs since '91!

Wild fans can't be nervous once they look at the Losers' play-off record over the past decade.

Okay... let's look:
2014 MIN: First Round win STL: First Round loss
2013 MIN: First Round loss STL: First Round loss
2012 MIN: Did not qualify STL: First Round win
2011 MIN: Did not qualify STL: Did not qualify
2010 MIN: Did not qualify STL: Did not qualify
2009 MIN: Did not qualify STL: First Round loss
2008 MIN: First Round loss STL: Did not qualify
2007 MIN: First Round loss STL: Did not qualify
2006 MIN: Did not qualify STL: Did not qualify
2005 NHL Lockout
2004 MIN: Did not qualify STL: First Round loss

In the last 10 playoff seasons
MIN: 4 playoff appearances, 1 series win
STL: 5 playoff appearances, 1 series win

The history looks pretty even to me, even slightly favored in STL's direction with 1 extra appearance. Thanks for pointing that out.... Go Blues!
