Hawks' Paul Richardson is done for the year - torn ACL (same one he tore two yrs ago, which is concerning) Likely means more time for the other rookie WR Norwood... and Lockette. (if he can keep his cool)

I would love for a Luck vs. Wilson SB. But the world, and NBC, will be rooting for a Brady vs. Rodgers matchup.

IND & SEA. Colts are my homer pick, they have to play an almost perfect game to win, the pats only need to play pretty good, but I'll still go with them.

Not sure rogers can gimp around another game and win, esp on the road.

My preference would be Indy VS Green Bay, but I'd bet on New England and Seattle.

If New England makes it in that gives me a team to root for - whoever is playing against the Patriots.

Boston fans have been spoiled over the decades (Celtics in the 60's and 80's, Red Sox and Patriots over the last 15 years). I'd rather see almost any other fanbase get the title. Of course, Seattle got their title last year, but they suffered for so long I can't begrudge them a second title.

My preference of winners:

Packers
Colts
Seahawks
Patriots

This seems to be a theme. Unfortunately, I have no faith in the Colts against the Pats. I do hope the other game is better. Probably dependent on Rodgers' health.

Colts are my top team. After that, Packers, then Patriots, then not watching football.

Predicting NE-Seattle, which might be the only way to get some people to not root against the Seahawks.

Not good for an already-thin group. Richardson had a big play in the last game.

That would actually be an interesting story about the 2012 draft.

Yeah that would be A interesting match up.Maybe in A year or two.

I like the Hawks vs. the Patriots.

Also I'm so happy the Broncos and peyton manning lost today.
Last years SB was one of the worse ever for A NFL fan in A long time.Unless you were a seahawk fan.

If Rodgers was 100% healthy, I would have gone with the Packers. But he has no mobility, and I think the Seahawks defense will get more pressure then Dallas got on him.

I think the Colts are just happy to get there, as I see the Patriots win this one by experience.

I still picked Seattle but Harvin was a big reason why Seattle beat Green Bay the first time around and Richardson was his replacement at WR and kick returns and seemed to be playing decent. Would not surprise me if Green Bay upset them.

If rodgers was healthy, i would pick them. But Seattles defense is tremendous and i think it will be a blood bath

One thing that killed GB in the opener was Bryan Bulaga getting hurt. His replacement, Derek Sherrod, was destroyed by Seattle, personally killing a few drives including the play resulting in a safety. He was later released. GB was withstanding the Seattle pressure up until that injury. But throw in a rookie at center starting in his first NFL game (after losing their starting center to injury in preaseason), and that Bulaga's injury moved the LT in to replace him at guard and brought in the awful Sherrod at LT, and it was a disaster. Three of their starting offensive linemen were missing or out of position for nearly 3 quarters. So the Packers O-line is probably the biggest area of improvement between week 1 and now.

With Rodgers' gammy leg it will be interesting to see if Seattle dials up anything different considering they have been dominant lately playing straight-up. I don't know how much Dallas considered his injury in their game plan but considering Rodgers was only sacked once and hit two other times I don't think they tried anything special to get to him. I think they tried to play more coverage.

It might be close in the first half but GB just doesn't match up well against a team like Seattle. I'm not saying Dallas is better than GB (it's close) but they would have posed a much bigger threat in this game.

It's technically true that Richardson replaced Harvin in those roles, but he hasn't played nearly as big a part as Harvin did in that first game. Actually, neither did Harvin. As someone who owned him in two leagues, I was really excited about how much they used him against Green Bay, and then it went quickly downhill after that. Richardson has had some moments, but they're relying on a lot of other people.

Re: 2014 NFL Playoffs Thread - Conference Championships - 01/18/2015

I think the key for GB's chances will be getting Lacey and the run game going. If they can't make SEA need to worry about the run, and they haven't been able to so far, it's not hard to limit their passing game even with a healthy Rdogers. Hard to beat a D set up to stop big pass plays if a team has to rely on big pass plays to succeed.

Re: 2014 NFL Playoffs Thread - Conference Championships - 01/18/2015

Right, but I have watched a lot of Seattle games and they always start off slow so it shouldn't be difficult for Green Bay to keep up and therefore the need for a big play. Really think it is going to be a fairly low scoring game with one team pulling away in the 4th.

Re: 2014 NFL Playoffs Thread - Conference Championships - 01/18/2015

I think you may see a different Seattle offense this week. Expect big lays like there was against CAR, and the CAR defense is better than GB's. But this time they will not wait to till the 2nd half.
