I hated his catch phrase crap, but he seemed like a good guy. Too sad.

Re: RIP Stuart Scott
RIP Stuart Scott... while he had many detractors because of the catch phrases, he was still a decent sports anchor. May he rest knowing that he beat cancer. And that anything he did while battling cancer will somehow impact those still living with this fucking disease.

Fuck Cancer.
He fought it off and on for seven years. That's one hell of a fight.

Oh shit, I was aware of his cancer, but didn't realize how bad shape he was. That was a very good piece on him. Nice work by espn and it was nice of Robin Roberts to narrate it.
I know that piece must have been produced weeks/months ahead of time, but it must have been really morbid to have all these ESPN anchors talk about Stuart in the past tense as he was already dead.

Rich Eisen just heard the news this morning on NFL GameDay morning. Here's his tribute. Very touching.

About a month or so ago there was a report he was in hospice. People close to the situation denied it up and down, but I am wondering if that was true.

For some time, I felt like he could have toned down his on-air persona. But I'll readily admit I've grown to admire him as a person and the courageous battle he's dealt with for years.

You could bitch and complain all you want about his schtick, but Scott made an impact on sports television. Fighting cancer 3 times and dying just short of his 50th birthday fucking sucks. Life is so unfair sometimes. He was a really brave man and I admired his battle and the work he did on TV.

Even though Hannah Storm was visibly distraught reporting his death this morning, it seems like they had that tribute package--including interviews--up and airing pretty quick.
I think ESPN was ready for this sad news.
