I can't wait to see how the Braves get rid of BJ Upton. There is the touchy matter of his brother playing for them but almost everyone believes Justin is leaving as a free agent after next year.

He doesn't deserve all the blame for the past 4 years, but it was time for a change. I'm a little surprised they weren't able to get him to step down, but I guess if that didn't happen last year it wasn't happening ever.

Yeah Gardie will get a job somewhere if he wants it. Hell I'd love to have him in Chicago. Ventura is terrible.

Doesn't matter who the Twins get - if they don't spend money they're not going to be competitive.

It sounds like they have a lot of talent in their farm system, maybe enough to make a Marlins-like run. But yeah, if they don't spend, they're not going to keep that talent, and then poor draft position will likely keep them from replenishing.

At ESPN.com-Headline-Girardi says ARod not a lock for starting role in 2015. Why was Jeter a lock at batting #2 and playing SS for the 2014 season? I guess winning isn't important.

I'd take him in St. Louis, too.

Is Texas still shopping? I could see him wanting to get closer to home.

Sucks about Gardenhire... I'd take him in Detroit in a second.

I think the Dbacks will give strong consideration to Gardenhire. Stewart has come out and said they don't want some new manager with little experience. They want someone who is already established and has coached for a while.

How much money did the Red Sox waste in honoring Derek Jeter the other day? That money could have gone to needy families instead the Red Sox spend on someone who is already rich beyond belief. Yet another reason why all these ceremonies are unnecessary.

Imagine if everyone went and volunteered at a soup kitchen instead of complaining about Jeter's retirement hoopla.

I donated my time at a homeless shelter last week here in Manhattan and I almost went crazy as all the homeless wanted to talk about was Derek Jeter,

How much do they spend on players each year? How much do they spend on promotions? Rather silly comment, don't you think? I'm sure the Sox do plenty with charities every year (all MLB teams do).

So will Lester re-up with Oakland or is he more likely headed to the Cubbies or back to the Sox?
