Maybe I shouldn't have listened to you guys saying to roll with Wallce... as Stills has over 20 points so far.

I'm doubting Wallace will come anywhere near that number.

My two RB (Jennings and Mason) are outscoring my opponent in one league. I'm crushing the guy by 100+ points and he only has Tannehill, Demariyus, the MIA K and the MIA D. I don't have to sweat this one out.

The garbage TD for Antonio Brown should secure a playoff spot for me

DeSean paid off over Colston. Crowell was a bust since I benched Bell, but it looks like it won't matter.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

I left Fleener and Stills on my bench. That's 46.90 points unused.

Luckily I'm up by 41.xx points and I have Wallace left and my opponent has CJ Anderson.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

Looking good for my 5-7 PPR team to sneak into the playoffs. Have already scored a season high in points at 176 (opponent has 87) with the rest of LaFell and Arizona defense. Opponent has Rodgers, Bowe, Miami D and Gostkowski. Barring a huge game from Rodgers I should make it. Thank you Andrew Luck and Le'Veon Bell.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

After a slow start to the season (thanks primarily to Eddie Lacy) I rebounded to finish 8-5 (thanks primarily to Eddie Lacy, but actually the Bills D as well) to make the playoffs as the sixth seed. Unfortunately it looks like Torrey Smith has some kind of knee injury so that does not bode well for next week, especially since my high scoring Bills D is facing the Broncos at Denver.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

And I have a 60 point lead with my opponent only having the Dolphins DST left. Dolphins facing the Jets is a great matchup for them, but I think I will hold on.

Now on to the playoff semifinals (in our league, only 4 teams make playoffs, with 2 2-week rounds)! Team is peaking at right time. I started 1-4, climbed back to 5-4, and fell right back to 5-6 (seemingly out of it). But my team has won 2 in a row, with the highest weekly score in the league both times.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

I won by 17 points + whatever Mike Wallace does tomorrow night.

I'm still in 3rd place by myself with a 7-6 record and only 1 game remaining. I should still make the playoffs even if I lose next week.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

Argh, so frustrating. In the league with the people I know the best and who do the most talking, I'm at 6-6 and can seal a playoff spot by beating the top team (10-2). He's getting pretty much nothing from Graham, Colston, and Ben in the PIT-NO game, then Colston gets the fourth-quarter TD and then Ben piles up the garbage. With six-point passing TDs, I'm sure he got 20 points in the last three minutes of the game (two TDs, two conversions, plus yardage), and I'm listening to the radio with the Saints playing who-cares defense and adding stupid penalties to let the Steelers march down the field. So Ben ends up with 39, and I'm at 74 total despite leading the league at 112 PPG. I still have Tannehill left, and I'm fortunate to be trailing only by those same 20 garbage points. Is it possible for Tannehill to overtake him? Yes, but obviously not a sure thing. And I won in this league last week by getting a miracle 23 points from the Bills D going against the same NY Jets so I might have used up my karma. If I lose, I'll be in a four-way tie at 6-7 for the last two spots. The first tiebreaker is head-to-head, and I've beaten one of those teams, lost to one, and not played the other, and the inequality MIGHT make us go to total points instead, which would be great for me.

An 8-4 team in our league started Stafford, Mason, Hopkins, Fleener, Antonio Brown, and the Rams: 224 points. The 9-3 team in our league started Cam, Forte, Gore, Dez, Walker, Gostkowski, etc.: 39 points.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

Won in my standard league to move to 10-3. Already clinched the #2 spot in the playoffs.

Up 186-123 in my PPR league with my opponent still having the Dolphins D tonight. It's still possible to lose (Rams D scored 57 points in this league this week) but provided they don't have a monster game, I'm in the playoffs at 6-7. With three playoff spots remaining, it looks like the three 6-6 teams will lose and the two 5-6 teams will win, setting up a five-way tie for these three spots. My big week moves me to the top, so I'm sitting at #4. If the Dolphins score big (and I still win), I could drop to #5, but it's looking like the 4-5 playoff matchup will be a rematch of my game this week.

After winning everything that it was possible to win last year in my league, my team failed to make the playoffs by one game.

There's always next year...

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

It's looking like I may lose in all five leagues this week... I'm up by 6pts in my TD based work league, but my opponent still has Mike Wallace to play and I have the Dolphins Defense still to play. If Wallace scores then I'll most likely lose. In another league, I scored the 2nd most points in the league, but lost to the team that scored the most points. That seems to happen to me constantly....

The daily leagues that have thousands of players are really difficult to make money in. You have to hit on every position. If one player sucks, you're not going to be in a money spot. Last year I placed 2nd overall in one of these 10,000+ people leagues and made $600. That's the most I've ever made from one league.

I usually play the 100 people or less leagues. Entry fees are $5 to $10 and the 1st place spot is $250. Never gotten first, but have made 2nd on a couple occasions this year, netting $125 each time.

Most weeks though, I only make about $20 or $30...but I still dream and throw a few bucks into those big pools every week in hopes of one day landing those awesome $5,000-$40,000 first place prizes.

Give it a shot, but just understand that it's not easy and you won't win money most weeks if you play the leagues with thousands of people.
Thanks! That's really interesting info. I have a real aversion to microtransactions in freemium games and similar small payments so I probably won't go down this slippery slope.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

Why couldn't the NFL schedule the Packers vs Falcons game in week 15 and not week 14?

Packers play in Buffalo in week 15 on a short week because of MNF and I hope this is not the game Rodgers and the Packers stumble.

Bills are playing great on defense though they have played QBs like Hoyer and Vick and I think Brady ripped them apart.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

I lost this week and wound up 6-7.

I missed out on the last playoff spot to another 6-7 team, as he beat me in the second week by seven points.

Blah.

I have a bye week in the toilet bowl playoffs.

I've officially clinched a playoff spot.

I can bench all my players this week to give them a rest for the playoffs.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

Made the playoffs with both teams. Got in as the #4 seed with my 6-7 PPR team. The 5/6 seeds (so, my opponent) were decided by 1 POINT. Since it was a 5 team tiebreaker, it went to points scored, and that was the difference. I have a more favorable match this way, pending a stat correction that flips the matchups.

Made the playoffs in one league, a miracle after starting 0-5 and missed in another league. Batting .500

Had Hopkins on my bench in a meaningless game for me this week and still won. I'm 11-2, the 1 seed by 3 games, but because of the Hopkins game I'm officially the worst manager in my league according to the CBS recap.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2014

Sturgis's fg at the end of the game propelled me to a 0.1 point victory to move into first. It was one of those weeks where we both had the 2 highest scores by a lot.
