Free preview weekend for week 1.

The thing I hate is you have to wait until maybe Wed or Thurs to see the channels and lineup in the 700's for Sun so you can't set your dvr a week in advance to tape a game or games.

The free preview is another reason I wasn't going to overly haggle. I know I won't be home for at least 2 Sundays (X-mas and Breeders Cup weekend) and probably 3 if I do a usual Vegas fall trip. Week 17 is a double-DH too, with no fantasy impact, so no sweat there.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

NFL Game Pass(100 bucks) has the replays of all of the NFL games (plus condensed games) shortly after they are played plus they go back from the past 5 or 6 seasons. I don't know if I will order it this season because a lot of the time it doesn't work well with Roku device's.

I could call back and try to get the whole shebang, but probably don't need it (and I'm kind of reluctant to do it anyhow until my current DVR dies and I try to upgrade to a Genie which will probably require a new contract). I also now get the Richmond CBS/FOX affiliates on my Verizon QAM lifeline cable so that's a few more games I should get here and there.
Fancy that. After I got RZC for free by calling a couple weeks ago, I got that e-mail offer on Tuesday. Clicked for the offer and I got it (though it took several days for it to register on my account). Sweet. No fuss no muss. And no 1-year contract required. Though it did say it would auto-renew in '18 but I can always cancel it.

I got hosed on mine. Despite confirmation from the CSR that it would not extend my contract, it was extended by a year. Found this out when trying to upgrade my main Genie. Fucking assholes straight up lied to me. I can't even call to complain because it is my word against theirs.

Can't wait until Sunday Ticket is not exclusive to DirecTV. I will dump them in a heartbeat, they are so expensive.

That's the only reason I have Direct TV.

The only reason I had them ... I will say the streaming service seems better this year ... 2 week in and no drops/buffering

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

I am dumping Direct TV in early April.

NFL Sunday Ticket has become less attractive with the NFL scheduling games on Sunday morning and Thursday nights.

Hopefully some streaming service will stream the games on Sunday afternoon but not sure about the Direct TV contract with the NFL.

I have the Red Zone Channel with Spectrum(but hardly ever watched it) so beginning next season I will have that on non-stop on Sundays.

Plus there is the NFL replay service(which was about 100 dollars) that also has radio replays(TuneIn I think only has replays from the previous week).

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

DirecTV went up $8 for me this billing cycle. It's getting quite expensive now.

I think now the threatening to cancel in order to get free Sunday Ticket is going to become much harder to do now with the price increase and now Sunday Ticket going up.

I haven't had Sunday Ticket in 3 seasons and it just wasn't worth the hassle of fake cancelling and paying full price is not worth it unless you're home every Sunday and watch 10+ hours of football.

Calling retention to get discounts still works. In fact, the discounts are way better than I've ever seen. Even people under contract are getting discounts. I'm getting $76 off per month for a year + HBO free for six months.

Call 1-800-531-5000
Say "cancel service" when it asks you why are calling. Say that no you aren't moving. That should get you to the loyalty department. Tell them that the price is too expensive and you are thinking of switching, and ask if there is anything that they can do to lower your price.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

This might be the year where I do something like SlingTV. $40ish a month for 4 months for RZ is way more doable than $400 on DTV. Love DTV but I think I am done funding this ridiculous contract with them and NFL.

I am lucky that my DTV contract runs out in July and I will only owe them 30 bucks when I stop receiving DTV in early April.

NFL Game Pass has it(last time I looked) plus full game replays(almost all of them) since 2009(again that may have changed because I am not subscribing until next month).

Yes, Game Pass has 45 minute condensed game replays.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

Since I no longer have Direct TV,NFL Game Pass would be the next best option.

I don't have a real need to watch everything live plus with Charter I still have the Red Zone Channel.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

My pissed off post in February clearly didn't dissuade me.

This is the first year in like a decade I am paying full price for ST Max. I am, however, splitting the cost of it, so that takes the sting off of it.

Game Pass was a $50 option with the Student subscription. I bought it, mostly so I can listen to radio broadcasts during the season. I rarely do the condensed games, but have a couple of times for games I missed live.

They offer live Preseson games which is nice, but they are subject to Blackouts for local teams. Fair enough, right? I live in Vegas so I expect Raider to get blocked. What it didn't expect was that the Rams, Chargers, Cardinals, Niners, and Broncos are also blocked! That is six teams or 19% of the league, and every team west of the Rockies except the Seahawks.

Here are the Preseason games they are blocking :

Spoiler:

DATE AWAY HOME REASON UNAVAILABLE

AUG 30, 2018 • 10:00PM ET Chargers 49ers Local Game
AUG 30, 2018 • 10:00PM ET Raiders Seahawks Local Game

Seems a little excessive. I'm kinda confused why Niners at Colts or Bears at Broncos is considered a "local game" in Las Vegas.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

I listened to the Lions/Raiders (Raiders broadcast) last night on TuneIn.

Last season it seemed that TuneIn only kept the replays for a week while NFL Game Pass goes back to 2009(with a few games not available).

Another thing with TuneIn is there are a lot of bugs on their live sports broadcasts.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

Hope to make the "I want my free ST" call this week. Scrolling up I noticed that I waited until the end of August last year, but I just want to get it over with.

Anyone who has tried already I'd be interested in hearing the results.

I called yesterday, and got nothing. I did notice that my previous discounts are still on my account through this month, so maybe that was the problem. Literally though, the only offer I got was ST at regular price, and that was by calling retention. I'll try again in a couple of weeks. I've been a subscriber for 15 years, and it always seems to work out.
