Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

What happened to NFL Sunday Short Cuts where you can watch all the plays from a game in 30 minutes that begin late Sun night and end on Wed morning?

I don't see any games listed on channel 704 and 705.

I checked and now they are only available as a app.

Who was the genius who decided to remove them from TV?

Who is going to watch it on a phone instead of a big screen TV? Dam millennials are ruining everything.

They have the condensed NFL games on NFL Game Pass(or something).

Plus,NFL Game Pass is working again on Roku.

Thanks for the thread bump, btw. It prompted me to call Smithville to get another year of RZC for $50.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

Found a college student that I could use. Good for the year now. I'm not even sure if it's worth it though as there are only 4 or so Redskins games I don't get in PA but I do love Red Zone.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

I had a Redzone question. I don't know if this is the right thread to post about it or not. Is there any way to purchase just NFL RedZone to stream? I moved recently and went from Comcast cable to Charter Spectrum. With Comcast, they had a digital sports package that had NFL Redzone that you could add to your plan for $5-10 a month depending on whatever promotion they were running. With Charter, it looks like you have to pay $40 more a month to get the Gold Package for RedZone. I looked at Sling TV and it looks like you have to buy their $25 a month package plus a $10 add on to stream Redzone. Has anyone found a way to purchase just Redzone from Charter or a streaming company?

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

My niece lived in an eligible apartment in New York, got it though her again. Bad news is, she just got married (I guess that is good news), but they might move in a year or so ... so probably need a new option next year.

Directv better bring back shorts cuts for the 2017 season so you can watch games in less than 30 minutes on your TV.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

Hahaha fuck you DirecTV. I call up to see about getting Red Zone like I do every year. The guy tells me they can't do RZ channel without Sunday Ticket, even if I wanted to pay separately just for RZ. So I'm like, "Ok, I can go to Cox, who has it for $7 a month. Do you really want to lose a 14 year customer who pays $200+ a month for service over that?" He's like, OK, let me look.

"Good news. I can offer you Red Zone Channel for $16/month for 6 months, but we'll credit you back $10/month of that."

Oh, so you can give it to me for a price? Fuckers. I hate having to play this game every year, but at least I got it. Last year I went without and was miserable.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

Here in Canada, the cable companies no longer have the rights for NFLST and RZ as Bell and Rogers no longer offers them. A company called DAZN acquired the rights and are offering them at $20 per month or $150 with one month free for a year. The price is great as they offer ST with RZ and NFL Network along with La Liga, Ligue1 and Serie A soccer matches. They also offer live broadcast of Bein and Bein in Espanol. The problem is that their service is stream only. They released their app in consoles and 4th Gen Apple TV so I have it on my PS4. I'm hoping that it won't lag on Sundays but we will see.

I haven't had ST and RZ the past couple of years and I missed it greatly.

I'd have held out. We were paying $180 a month for Directv and that was enough for me. I called to cancel and got retention offers up the wazoo. But I didn't want to do the song and dance every year like you said.

I went to PS Vue, but once I found out they don't do surround sound, I switched to Spectrum. I'm saving like $100 a month and it includes my internet.

So yeah. Fuck you, Directv.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

Ugh. I still have yet to do the ST shuffle with DTV. I dread it every year but it almost always saves hundreds of dollars so do it I will. I do have AT&T mobile service combined with DTV so I wonder if that might help or hurt my bargaining position.

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket NO LONGER requires a DirecTV account!

I get that DTV doesn't want to unbundle Red Zone from Sunday Ticket. I would imagine if they did that, their ST subscribership would probably drop by 90%. But, thing is, when other companies are offering a similar product for basically $5 - $10 per month, I don't know why they don't. Maybe they figure people are too lazy and won't switch just for that. I honestly would probably pay $25 per month for RZ if they offered it at that price. Instead, I call up, threaten to cancel every single year and either get it standalone for free or next to nothing in price. Maybe we'll see a change when the deal is up in 2022.

I didn't get the email myself, but I called DirecTV and said that a friend received this offer and I wanted to see if I qualified for it. They said I did and added it to my account. I've been a DirecTV customer for 15 years or so and I've gotten Sunday Ticket for free (or greatly reduced) the great majority of the time.

Just got the same result: free Sunday Ticket, plus $40/month off my bill for 12 months for being a swell guy - and sending them loads of money every month for many years. YMMV and I'm not sure if it mattered but I also have AT&T combined account. Regardless, can't complain about roughly $800 taken off the bill for the cost of being pleasant on the phone for 20 minutes.

I just called. My 1 year contract still has 4 days left so it locked me out of my usual free ST offer, but the CSR gave me free RZC and said that's becoming a pretty frequent carrot now. Also got $7 off SHO per month for 6 mos. No 1 year lock-in this time so that's fine.

I could call back and try to get the whole shebang, but probably don't need it (and I'm kind of reluctant to do it anyhow until my current DVR dies and I try to upgrade to a Genie which will probably require a new contract). I also now get the Richmond CBS/FOX affiliates on my Verizon QAM lifeline cable so that's a few more games I should get here and there.
