Re: NCAA Mens Ice Hockey Tournament Thread

Nice infographic - lists facts on the various teams in the tourney plus a list of the NHL Prospects that are playing. My Sabres have six players - two on Minnesota (Hudson Fasching and Christain Isackson), two on Wisconsin (Jake McCabe and Brad Navin) and two on Providence (Mark Adams and Anthony Florentino). Would be awesome if both Minnesota and Wisconsin win their regionals - we are then guarenteed two guys in the championship game as Minnesota and Wisconsin will face each other in one of the semifinals. Chicago and Florida lead the way with eight players. Calgary is tied with with Buffalo with six players while Los Angeles rounds out the top five - with five. (They would have had six and been ahead of Buffalo if they didn't trade Hudson Fasching to the Sabres at this years trade deadline.)

http://sportdesigns.com/chinc/images...HLfans2014.jpg

Astrochimp - Yeah I don't see why the semifinals and finals arn't shown at least on TSN2. Must be some type of curling championships being held on April 10 and April 12.

(Edit: Checked the TSN curling schedule - none are scheduled - mens world championships take place the week before. No MLS (soccer) matches listed for TSN/TSN2 for the 7:00 pm ET-10:00 pm ET time slot - the night of the final on April 12. Wonder what TSN/TSN2 is showing then?)

Same deal with the NCAA Lacrosse Championships - Semifinals and Finals - come Memorial Day weekend in late May. There are Canadian kids playing on teams in both sports involved in the championship rounds every year. Show them! (Heck Denver lacrosse had five Canadians last year on their "Final Four" team.)

The CHL probably pays to keep it off the air up there.

Nice to see UND win. I'm pulling for Minnesota, but won't mind too much if the new B1G gets shutout.

Sorry Bill.

Poor Denver. Never fun to have to come back onto the ice for another period down 6.

Good News - There will be TV coverage of both the First Semifinal - Boston College vs Union (Thursday, April 10-5:00 pm ET-7:30 pm ET) and the Championship Final (Saturday, April 12-7:30 pm ET-10:00 pm ET). Both games will be televised LIVE on TSN2.

Bad News - Unfortunately no LIVE or Tape Delay coverage of the Second Semifinal - Minnesota vs North Dakota (Thursday, April 10-8:30 pm ET-11:00 pm ET) - is planned. Both TSN and TSN2 are showing NHL Hockey games (Los Angeles at Edmonton and St. Louis at Minnesota) on Thursday evening.

Well two of the three games being televised and both of them LIVE is better than no games being televised.
(Wonder if the other will be made available to view online via TSN.ca?)

So far, this is a great game. 0-0 but many scoring chances for both MN and ND.

As an ECAC alumnus, I always get tired of hearing how it's the weakest league (although it usually is ) ---would love to see the second straight championship for the league.

The good ECAC teams are always good. There may be a dropoff at the bottom, though.

But I'd put ECAC above Atlantic Hockey and the new WCHA/CCHA leftover conference.

Ah yes, EZAC. Unfortunately, they've earned that in the past.

Yes, it does seem like ECAC always has a couple good teams, but not too much depth. I haven't followed the reorganization of the leagues over the last few years to really have an informed opinion about the newer ones.
