Not to mention WCW piping "Goldberg" chants when he was being booed.

That's one unintended(?) consequence of putting out a crap product for a while now, the WWE Network content is even all that much more appealing.

Wow, Over The Edge 1999 is on the list.

I have to think they'll cut that whole chunk in the middle out of it, and probably mute the commentary of anything pertaining to Owen Hart after that.

Do they still have to blur the old WWF logos? That'll make a lot of these old PPVs and TV shows look like crap.

No, they no longer have to blur the scratch logo, nor do they have to edit out audio that says WWF.

There will be music edits, and who knows how much of Benoit's material will be altered.

Yikes. Curious if it was just a botch or if there was more to it. It should make for a good story on Total Divas, at least.

They've said Benoit stuff will run with a disclaimer, but otherwise totally intact.

The music stuff is going to suck. I'd imagine Hogan's music in WCW during the nWo is wiped out, Enter Sandman gone, Bikertaker's shitty song...

I think the eye-patch adds to her character. She should keep it and in the storyline say she had to "lose" the eye due to it getting infected. A.J. could start referring to her as the "cyclops" for cheap heat.

Nothing about her is ever going to make me remember her WWE name.

They really should have just switched the Funkadactyls to their real names after the split from Brodus. It's weird because the other Total Divas either have real names similar to the ring names, or they are called by their ring names on the show. Trinity is a cooler ring name anyway.

They need to do away with the Divas. Burying Ziggy to 3 man tag matches? Heels fighting heels who are fighting with faces who are fighting other heels? There's some weird confusing shit going on with the product for me to care about the Divas (other than AJ).

Watched Impact after missing a couple of weeks. So far the MVP stuff isn't a trainwreck (and it involves the Wolves), Joe's back to being a monster chasing the title (Magnus), Austin Aries is X-division champ and didn't lose when blindsided with a feast or famine briefcase, Chris Sabin has a personality, Abyss is finally coming back, and Bubba Ray is away from the title picture. Not bad, though still way too much Dixie.

They've also booked Magnus horribly. He doesn't win a match unless 10 other guys interrupt the match. And while I like MVP, I do find it hilarious that they've pushed him as a major name when he was never above a mid-carder in WWE, and hasn't been in the states for 3 years. I mean Tenay nearly had an orgasm when MVP was revealed.

Well, Magnus is a heel, I'm fine with them booking him like that (although perhaps because I haven't been watching, I have a hard time with him at the top of the card). Look at Orton, he's pretty much a whiny, almost cowardly heel who lost cleanly to Kofi.

Tenay is... Tenay. That was some brutal announcing, with Taz "on assignment." But he didn't come in and start destroying guys in the ring, and he can at least work the mic so I think he fits in that role. Even though they were largely absent, I like the Wolves being with him instead of just debuting as yet another tag team.

Re: The February 2014 Pro Wrestling Thread: Elimination Chamber

I cant even watch this product anymore. For the past few years I catch it here and there and when I get free tickets to shows but I cringe anymore. They bury stars and push crap with a front loader.
I started watching wrestling in 1981 and have seen the rise and falls but it's at the point where these guys just dont know what they are doing anymore. They refuse to hear the chants and wants of fans and the only reason they keep going is the fact that they have gone PG and know the kids know nothing and will buy into the product no matter what.

When Vince is gone I can only imagine what Steph and HHH will let this company develop into.

Ugh the last few WCW PPV's were trainwrecks for the most part. I was still watching the product at the time it went off the air/was purchased by Shane McMahon (or in actuality the WWF/WWE) and can't believe I stuck it out to the end and I think I actually ordered one of the PPV's from the final year (The Great American Bash 2000). There was so little redeeming qualities to the last year or so they were on the air.

will this infamous moment stay?
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/fCOwWsXrGJM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

also one of the WCW PPV's (halloween havoc 2000 or 99) actually went dead in the middle of a match because they mistimed everything & it went off at 11pm in the middle of the main event

Re: The February 2014 Pro Wrestling Thread: Elimination Chamber

This may be the saddest and funniest thing I've read wresstling related in some time. And here I was wondering why they never took any forward momentum with Christian.

- Last summer we noted that former WWE writer Alex Greenfield told The Fight Network in an interview that at one point, Vince McMahon wanted to put a blue dot over Christian’s face because it bothered Vince. Greenfield said:

“Right before I started, there was a big show, I think it might have been in Toronto. Christian was just so completely over, and everybody thought he was going to get a push at, I think it was the World Heavyweight Championship at that point. We were on the plane one time shortly after I started, and Vince was just like “God damn, I just don’t like his face. His face really bothers me.” I was like, “He’s ugly, Vince?” “No, it’s not that he’s ugly, it’s just, I don’t know, it’s ratty! You know what we should do? That Kennedy gimmick.” And we’re all like, “What?” Some see-on of the Kennedy fortune I guess got arrested for rape in the 1990s at some point. When the woman who was accusing him was on the stand, all of the networks put a blue dot over her face. Vince was like, “God damn, you know what we should do? We should put a blue dot over his face whenever he comes out.” It was the flight to Sheffield, England, also the flight where the Spirit Squad idea was invented. This was a whole flight of bad ideas.”

Greenfield’s story was confirmed on last Monday night’s RAW when Christian came out and JBL mentioned putting a blue dot over his face.
