Great quote
"Tortos told us they were starting their idiots over there, so we had to match that," - Tom Sestito, one of the guys Tortorella put out there

Because both teams lost a pair of D, the others played a lot of extra time. Poor Dennis Wideman had to play 38 minutes.

If I were the NHL,I would suspend every Flame player on the ice for the start of the games ,a ten game suspension as well as the head coach. I would make the Flames play 4 players short for each of the next 10 games.

Lame. It also essentially awarded the Red Wings 2 points they didn't deserve. They're currently in 9th place in the Eastern Conference; if they don't get those 2 points they're sitting in 12th.

I had the Detroit-STL game on last night and they showed a clip from a game from 2008 where Detroit got scored on in a manner very similar to what happened to LA. So I guess they're even with the hockey gods now?

Marleau and Thornton both signed 3-year extensions today. Both took slight paycuts: Marleau from $6.9 to $6.67 and Thornton from $7 to $6.75.

Any word on what they would have to give up?

Go Devils! Up 2-1 from two great Elias goals. If New Jersey wins today they move into a tie with NYR and take hold of the last playoff spot in the Metropolitan division. New Jersey goal as I write this! Travis Zajac!

Well, that went to shit in the second for NJ. The score is now 6-3, after 4 unanswered goals by NY. I hope for a third period comeback, but I seriously doubt it happens.

The ten goals totaled tied the previous mark set by Detroit/Chicago at Wrigley Field in Chicago in 2009. (Detroit won the game 6-4) The seven goals scored by the Rangers were the most goals by one team in an outdoor game. Also the goalie switch done by the Devils (Schneider replaced Brodeur at the start of the third period) was the first time this season that they changed a goalie during a game. They were the last NHL team to do so.

You know things are going bad for the Blackhawks when even the Jets, a team they've owned lately, beat them.
They are really going to regret giving Crawford that contract.
