I'm sure I got this wrong (no matches). I should have just gone with Spud or Mugsy, active player be damned. I just threw out the shortest recent prominent college player I could think of. I think he's 6-1 or something like that.

One issue with this question is how to define their height. There are players listed as taller than 6' who aren't.

Ainge hasn't played a game for the Celtics in 25 years. Garnett could be seen delivering illegal moving screens and the like as recently as a week or two ago.
Sometimes you just have to go with what's current.

Besides, to me all that stuff that went down in the 80's with Ainge or McHale or whoever was just indicative of the way the game was played back then.
