2013 NHL Offseason - Draft, Free Agency, Preseason, Etc..
The draft lottery will take place on Monday April 29, at 8pm ET. The recent CBA has changed the way the lottery works. In the past a team could only move up a max of 5 spots. Now, any team that wins the lottery will move to the top spot.

Colorado Avalanche -- 18.8
Tampa Bay Lightning -- 14.2
Nashville Predators -- 10.7
Carolina Hurricanes -- 8.1
Calgary Flames -- 6.2
Edmonton Oilers -- 4.7
Buffalo Sabres -- 3.6
New Jersey Devils -- 2.7
Dallas Stars -- 2.1
Phoenix Coyotes -- 1.5
Philadelphia Flyers -- 1.1
Winnipeg Jets -- 0.8
Columbus Blue Jackets -- 0.5

Colorado wins the lottery and will be picking first. Everything seems to be lining up for them to take Seth Jones. Hopefully this will get some excitement back around that franchise.

FWIW there is a Gordie Howe movie on the Hallmark channel this weekend with Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson from Stargate). It looks pretty schmaltzy, but I plan to give it a watch.

I think he missed too much time with his ankle injury. He only played in 24 games. Otherwise he would have been there instead of Niemi or Lundqvist.

Daly said the League's schedule would go into recess after games played Feb. 8, 2014 and wouldn't resume until Feb. 25, two days after the gold-medal game. NHL players participating in the Olympics would arrive in Sochi no later than Feb. 10. The first full practice day at the Olympics would be Feb. 11, and the tournament is scheduled to open Feb. 12.
