Vikings trade Percy Harvin to the Seahawks. Jay Glazer reported it.

Interested to see what they're giving up, but love the addition. I guess I'm more concerned about the eventual contract than the draft picks at this point.

It's contingent on him passing a physical and agreeeing to a new contract.

Everyone is saying "at least a first-round pick."

No problem. Looks like we are getting Vikings #52 pick.

1st round pick, 7th round pick and a mid round pick.

Bizarre trade. Is Rice not under long term contract for the Seabags? Just don't see WR as a big need for them.

And this makes the Vikes even more one-dimesional. Maybe AP can rush 2,500 next season.

I'm content with that. I was happy to have him on that rookie contract, but he's too much of a head case to give $10 million plus money to. Of course, the Vikings will screw things up and give Wallace too much money now.

As a Lions fan, I endorse this trade... but the love for Carroll is questionable. I can't stand the prick who cheated in college and bailed to the NFL only to have 1 good season.

He is, but you know Sidney Rice--it's hard to expect him to be on the field all the time, and he ended the year banged up. Golden Tate had some good numbers last year, but some think he's more suited to be a #3 guy (and others say slot, but that's Harvin's spot). The year before, undrafted rookie Doug Baldwin led them in receiving so it's been kind of a sore spot for what in most areas should be a very good team.

That would be a win-win if AP is one of my keepers for next season (depends on our number of owners)!

The Seahawks definitely need WRs. Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are above average but neither are game breakers or provide the big time plays like Harvin.

Re: 2012-2013 NFL Offseason Thread

I like this trade a lot more for the Vikings than the Seahawks. They got close to equal value for Harvin (drafted #22 in 2009, Vikings got back #23 in this year's draft and a few extra picks). Plus Harvin has injury and attitude issues and will require an expensive extension.

I'm not sure the Vikings even end up with Mike Wallace as the Dolphins will offer him a lot of money that he probably can't turn down. I've read that he wants to play in a warmer city as well. They might move up for Cordarelle Patterson in the draft.

Harvin is a difference maker, there are few teams that don't have a big need for that. And their offense needed some big play ability, they're too much a grind it out team.

Given the solid defense, getting such an upgrade on the O side of the ball makes a lot of sense to me, especially for a likely playoff team that wants to be more.

.
So if the Patriots get a 6th round pick for Brady , that's close to equal value?

I was thinking the same thing.

But afterwards I thought a little about it. I get where he's coming from.

They drafted Percy with #22, used him for a few years, and get pick #23 in this upcoming draft. It's like renting him during his rookie contract.

As a 49ers fan, this is the last place I wanted Harvin to go.

Fack.

Nice.

Thanks for reminding me that Harvin to the '9ers was the first rumor.

Great pickup. Crabtree, Boldin, Manningham. Damn solid trio of receivers for Kaepernick next season.

Manningham tore his ACL/MCL, he won't even be back for training camp. He'll probably be on the PUP list. Kyle Williams is in the same boat, so AJ Jenkins is de facto #3.

Love Boldin to the 49ers. I was waiting for him to get released by the Ravens and was hoping the 9ers got him. Glad that they just traded for him to ensure they got him.
