They need to get rid of the Thursday games altogether.

The Emperor's latest idea to address player safety: instead of kicking off, the team coming off a score gets the ball at their own 30 with an instant 4th and 15. So they can choose to punt from there or go for the 1st.

Any hope that Ponder gets benched and Joe Webb starts for the Vikings? They are going nowhere fast.

Doubtful.

If they don't go up big early on Sunday, the boo-birds might be enough to get him benched at some point in the game though.

What was it,Brian Bellick, who last year on an ESPN show mentioned that you can't bench him because he must develop into a No. 1 QB. huh Better too suck than make the playoffs.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think this is simply their way to spice up the end of games that are seemingly out of hand, and not at all about player safety. How many onside kicks that are obviously coming are converted? 5%? Hell, you probably got a 10% chance of getting PI on a throw that far downfield nowadays.

If the NFL was really serious about player safety and health, then they would scrap the weekly Thursday games, but we all know they won't do that. So the Emperor really needs to STFU.

AFC West : Peyton Manning & The Broncos, and three train-wreck dumpster fires. Can't believe any of us thought he might end up anywhere else. Really can't believe I didn't bet the Broncos to win the division. That was a bet only for people who like money.

So the Cardinals have switched QBs again . . . two games too late. I have no idea what the coach was thinking, sticking with Lindley after it was obvious he couldn't handle the job.

He didn't want his job anymore. It doesn't matter. At this point, I wish they would keep Lindley in, lose out, clear house of coaches and GM, outside of Ray Horton. He should be the next head coach. Give him a high draft pick to start off his tenure.

If I was the Dolphins' coach, I would suspend these 2 pussies for a game just for saying something so embarrassing and pathetic:

Dolphins saw “disrespect” in Pats running same play over and over

Posted by Mike Florio on December 7, 2012, 3:43 PM EST

When two kids are playing Madden and one of them keeps using the same play (and it keeps working), the other kid eventually gets upset.

The Dolphins can relate to said upset kid.

Last Sunday, the Pats killed the clock in the fourth quarter with a 16-play drive that included 13 running plays. Six of the running plays came through the same hole. And the Dolphins don’t like that.

“It really [ticked] me off,” defensive tackle Tony McDaniel said, via Brian Briggane of the Palm Beach Post. “It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful.

“Normally when somebody’s driving down the field you just think, ‘Well, they just had a good run there,’ but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that [ticks] me off.”

Teammate Randy Starks was also upset, but he was more pragmatic.

“It is disrespectful, but you’ve got to stop it,” Starks said. “We never stopped it, so I’d keep running the same play, too.”

So would anyone with a functioning brain.

In three weeks and two days, the Dolphins get another chance to not stop the same play, over and over again, when they face the Pats in Foxboro. Maybe Miami will think it’s less disrespectful if the Patriots actually tell them that they’re running the same play again.

Of course, even then the Dolphins may not be able to stop it.

People bitch about the Pats throwing and running up the score. People bitch about the Pats running and running and running through the same hole. Coach Vader could start taking knees in the 3rd quarter and people would bitch about that.

Cowboys DT Josh Brent has been arrested on intoxicated manslaughter charges. Jerry Brown, a practice squad player for the Cowboys and a teammate of Brent's at Illinois, was the person killed.
