Or perhaps the Giants are just a better team.

A little early to be singing the na na na song I think.

I might have to vote for the Tigers just because of that.

Yeah Giant bandwagon fans are huge douchebags. If they win it all this year they'll be as insufferable as Red Sox fans perhaps even more so.

Not possible, you cant be that bad.

Zito has been my favorite Giants player for years I'm glad the fans are finally behind him. Hes always seemed like a class act.

Who sold their soul to the devil for the Giants to be able to do this?

Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson, Albert Pujols...Pablo Sandoval.

What a list to be a part of.

Hell, he's still got one more at bat, he could stand alone.

Zito was a real doucher when he came to Busch with the Giants in 2007. If I remember correctly he was just out on the field playing catch and not starting. The little kids were just hollering at him for autographs or just to get him to acknowledge them and he would do neither. It was fans on the field day to take pictures with Cardinal players and the kids tried to show him love and he basically told them to beat it by his inaction. Also, I like how the Giants fans booed the announcement of the Tigers at the beginning. Stay classy San Francisco!

Re: MLB 2012 Playoffs, World Series Edition

Damn. that was impressive - looked like a pretty decent pitch to Sandoval too.

It's a shame you can't win with HR's in the postseason. You'd think it would be far easier to string together 3 or 4 hits to get a couple of runs off a good pitcher. I think in last year's playoffs a greater % of runs scored via the HR than the regular season; yet I'm sure at some point McCarver will talk about how small ball is more important in the postseason.

I don't really get that sentiment. It's not quite as electric as 2010, but still everywhere you go in the Bay Area people are talking about the giants, laughing and smiling. There's a super positive buzz in the air. I love it.

Of course they are talking about the Giants now. The question is do they do it after a ho hum season or two?

Re: MLB 2012 Playoffs, World Series Edition

Lots of fans still attended games from 2004 to 2009 (the "ho hum" years). Obviously there was a decline in attendance, but that's expected. It's definitely not Marlins style attendance.

Stop the presses. People love winners! The SF Giants have sold out each home game since the 2010 season. There was a team in the AL that did not sell out a playoff game!

While technically that may be true there were 25 or 30 games this season where AT&T park was only two thirds full. The place was not packed to the gills for the most part.

Their bandwagon is huge and populated with idiots who can't name more than 2 or 3 players and who spend more time on their I-phone that watching the game. Though I'm sure thats true of a lot of ballparks nowadays.

You are claiming that 1/3 of home games had less than 28,000 people in attendance? That 13,000 people bought tickets but didn't go or couldn't sell them? Okay.

MLB uses paid attendance, not turn style attendance, so what he's saying could be true.

There were definitely a handful of games towards the end of the season that were sold out only by fudging some numbers somewhere, but I think overall here the fans are great.

I think it's safe to say that we won't be seeing Valverde closing anymore games this season.
