Dana looks and sounds like he's attending a funeral at the press conference.

Dana White: "The (Holm-Rousey) Rematch Makes a Lot of Sense"

Just stated at the post-fight presser.

Shit, didn't see that one coming.

If Aldo beats Conor he'll probably be put on suicide watch.

I don't know how to post a direct link, but this is the reaction to Holly's win in Albuquerque featuring Donald Cerrone.

What makes it even better is Rousey didn't touch gloves. Looked like she was tired before the first bell rang trying to make herself look mean.

Looks like Ronda's mom was right about her needing a new coach.

Tarverdyan's sham bankruptcy filing may turn into reality soon. Here's a link on that.

I knew it! I had the feeling and I was right.
Not only was she beat, she was outclassed, exposed, but unfortunately probably not humbled.

Who was it that said "There's a sucker born every minute"? People were pissed that they were paying so much for PPVs where she would win in under 2 minutes, just like Mike Tyson, so she throws the match and UFC does record numbers when she makes her comeback. Let's just hope Rhousey doesn't rape anyone before her big comeback and ruin it.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

I was asleep so I couldn't watch. Luckily some Mexican sites had the fight and I wasn't spoiled. Damn good fight. The differences in the two. I always felt that Holm had an edge cuz she can punch. That's her thing. Also the gap between just by the reach of Holms. She's a boxer. She knows how to dodge.

I like Rousey in the octagon. She dominates. But at some point she was going to go down and this was the best way for her to do. She was out of her element. Holm was a fighter type that Rousey never had an opportunity to fight before.

There were several times you can call when it looked like Rousey wasn't going to take it for this one. The early hits. The past round one. Whatever. The thing that clinched it for me was Holm's dodge from a fist that led to Rousey stumbling down.

The ones before that I'm willing to pass cuz of their differences in stats but that stumble down... was the beat I needed to see to know that Holms had this for sure.

That kick though... wow. Damn thing was a beaut.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

I don't follow MMA at all... I just hear snippets of what's going on and such.
Yet for months I've heard nothing but how dominant Rousey is - that her fights lasts seconds.
I've been barraged by her... she keeps popping up everywhere... talk shows, movies, etc. I found her cockiness annoying - she really didn't seem humble or modest at all. I love that Rousey lost - looks good on her.

Vegas books got crushed last night. All the money was on the underdog and this was a heavily-bet fight.

From UFC:

Unless you were the lucky bloke whose $20K bet on Holly Holm to win turned into $240K of genius, you likely never envisioned Ronda Rousey succumbing to the striking and Leg Kick That Shocked The World.

The odds were so big it didn't make sense to place a bet on Ronda if you were going to bet.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

I had a feeling Holm might win this via KO and she sure did. Ronda was too aggressive, chasing and eating those punches with no game plan. She finally pay the price. What was surprising thought was Holm able to prevent the takedown and got out of an armbar attempt. I wonder if this loss will tone down her arrogant and bitchness.
