I have the same number of arms and legs as Elvis, therefore I claim his legacy and gold records!

Weak sauce. Old Browns != New Browns. Period.

Same town, same uniforms (color and logos), same name. Same team.

Fans root for uniforms. If the Eagles suddenly released their whole team and got all new guys, I'd still root for the Eagles.

1960 Senators = 1961 Twins = 2011 Twins
1971 Senators = 1972 Rangers = 2011 Rangers

2011 Twins != 2011 Rangers
--> 1960 Senators != 1971 Senators

Same name, same city does not make same team.

I guess we're gonna have to agree to disagree, even though you're wrong.

That's not the same name and same city. Now if the Expos moved to Washington as the Senators, then I'd say it's the same team. There is something to be said for the elapsed time between the leaving and the coming back.

I became a Giants fan because I felt sorry for them in 1981 when Montana shredded them in the playoffs. I was watching with my Dad. I didn't totally know what was going on, but I could tell he was pretty pissed off. That made an impression on me. My Dad and I have watched just about every Giants game together since then.

What are you smoking? How are the 1960 and 1961 Washington Senators *NOT* the same name and the same city?!?? They're not the same team, obviously, but the name/city are IDENTICAL!

That map just validates that the Ravens are one of the most disliked teams in the country for a variety of reasons (and have been for years).

I damn sure wouldn't take them at +120 to win it. Well, the masses like their offense and pretty boys I guess, even after seeing the Saints and Packers go down.

Don't the Browns share the history of the old Browns franchise with the Ravens? If they have a history they're obviously still the same team.

I'm thinking Pats/Giants superbowl again. But I don't really care. Just hope the games are good. wouldn't mind seeing the niners win it.

Because they both ended up in different places with different names? The Browns are still the Browns with the same unis and same colors. I'm not sure the analogy you think you are making works.

Re: 2011 NFL Playoffs Thread -- Divisional Playoffs - 01/14/12 and 01/15/12

Back when I was a kid, the 49ers and Patriots were a joke.

Now here we are in 2012, and the 49ers, Pats, Saints, Buccaneers, all the joke teams of the 70's have a Super Bowl and the Eagles are without. But let's keep the head coach for the 13th year in a row!

(And yes, the Eagles were definitely a joke team too but started to come around under Vermiel.)
