Just visiting - team colors or no?

Going to the Washington v USC game @ USC this Saturday.

Normally I wear my purple and gold to any Husky game, but it's just me and my 5 year old son. Don't want him to experience any heckling etc.

We have tickets within the masses, as the Visitor section there is apparently a worthless view.

We did the UCLA game a couple years ago and there were a few jackasses but nothing too major. He didn't notice, I of course did.

My son is old enough that I can start to explain how people who attend USC are idiots who occasionally get lucky with a national championship, but I don't want anything to ruin the experience.

What would you do... Just go anonymous, or wear the team colors?

Purple and gold? Those idiots will think you're a Lakers fan.

I love how USC fans are idiots but your team hasn't won anything of relevance since the early 90s.

Let us know when you rejoin reality.

Re: Just visiting - team colors or no?

It depends on where I am, honestly. I was at the ASU/Wisconsin game last year and I had no problems wearing my ASU gear there. However, I've been in LA and I wouldn't even wear my Dbacks hat when they weren't playing and I saw a game in Dodger stadium. You'd think being with a kid would prevent people from talking shit, but I've seen some really fucked up shit people do, especially at football games.

I agree... I wouldn't even give it a thought most places... L.A. is a bit unique.

I guess I'll find out.

I voted team colors. But my team's colors. Red and white, thanks.

Re: Just visiting - team colors or no?

I would say go ahead but only if you are going to be in a section of the stadium where you know it is a Washington only visitors section. I'm guessing this will not be the case though so I would say no. Simple fact, is it worth the risk to find out what would happen? There are too many idiots aroound to take the chance, especialyl wiith your 5 year old son.

Wear the colors and cheer your team, just don't be obnoxious about it and you will be okay

Since you are taking your son, wear something other than your team colors. It's not worth the risk of getting into a fight or argument with your child being present.

Re: Just visiting - team colors or no?

I'd wear the colors and leave the 5 year old at home. Way too young for a football game.

There's a university in Hawaii? And they have fans?

Maybe just wear your teams boxers or thong, whichever is your personal preference.

Re: Just visiting - team colors or no?

Screw it. I'll wear my logo'd sweatshirt (It's grey, but has the colors embroidered on the front) and hope for good neighbors. Most people are reasonable. I might put a red shirt on my son though. The smartass will probably want to route for USC any way when he finds out they are favored. He doesn't like to lose.

Went to a UH vs OSU game at Aloha Stadium in 2006. Other than the drunks already throwing huge rolls of tp from the cheap seats, a poor father and son team I sat next to just kept getting berated by the Warrior fans. They wore their colors, came all the way from Oregon to vacation and enjoy the game. Didn't help that OSU won the game. I apologized for the locals behavior, but the dad was pretty understanding with it.

Re: Just visiting - team colors or no?

I wear my Notre Dame jersey to the games at USC and have never had a problem. The only fans that have problems are the ones that act like idiots. As long as you don't do stupid crap you should be alright.

I also have not had any problems at aloha stadium.

Re: Just visiting - team colors or no?

Update: Really no problems at all. Had a good time.

I have to say, that is about the least enthusiastic stadium I've ever been in though.

Was that why the NFL hasn't made it back?

Too bad the Huskies didn't play better, though

What does winning have to do with fans being idiots? I'm guessing you're a USC fan...

He's the perfect age for a Penn State football game!
