Somethings got to give:

The team with the better regular season winning percentage has won the World Series 53 times, or 50% (53 of 106) of the time.

Something has to be done about this. The best team is not always winning. The playoff system is broken!

Go Cards!

Same here. There really is no one on either team that I like or dislike so I don't care who wins... I'm just hoping for a fun series.

From all the commentators it sounds like the Cardinals stand no chance in this series. Why all of them think that Colby is suddenly going to pitch a stud game tonight is beyond me. He just might but I don't understand why they think it is a sure thing.

Berkman's two run single clearly bounced foul. Terrible luck.

Edit: Turns out even though it bounces foul initially it's really fair. Good call.

I've always been fond of the Cards, going back to the Lou Brock/Bob Gibson era, so I'll pull for them, but what I really want is a good series.

I was positive Colby wasn't going to pitch a stud game tonight. I would have bet billions on it if I could.

If Game 1 is any indication, we're in for quite a series. Cards up 3-2 going to the bottom of the 7th.

Tim McCarver just uttered the sentence "It's a 5 letter word: S T R I K E."

Also, damn... Rangers can't do anything with runners on base tonight.

Hamilton wasn't kidding when he said he was playing at 50%. He looks terrible out there. Flied out one-handed to shallow center to end the 8th. 3-2 Cards.

Adrian Beltre fouls a ball off the tip of his foot... the umps miss the call and he's out at 1st while hobbling around in the batters box.

Cards take game 1, 3-2. This has the makings of a good series.

If Garcia can pitch well tomorrow and the Cardinals can somehow come up with the win then I really like our chances. Great game tonight!

Intense, tightly-contested game all around. The Cardinal bullpen was cold-blooded. It was a well-umpired game as well, aside from the missed foul off the foot there at the end. Great start to what looks to be an awesome World Series.

That was the quickest opposite field home run that I can remember in some time. Damn.

I had the game on pause for the wife for almost an hour due to her work schedule and I did not catch up w/ the live broadcast until the post-game.

Holy shit - that was awesome. Carp, Puma, Craig against the flame-thrower w/ the compact wind-up, the bullpen.

Son-of-a-bitch, what a nail-biter.

Hamilton looks uncomfortable at the plate when he swings - he should not be hitting third.

Let's go, Birds!

Congratulations to the Cardinals tonight! If the Rangers do not win the World Series, I am convinced that the Rangers are cursed
