Sweet victory for the Cards.

Great to see contributions from so many different guys. Momentum is huge. Glad to see St. Louis take hold of it first.

The funny thing is.......people don't think the Cardinals are very good. That just isn't true.

Played the entire season without a Cy Young starter......and still in the World Series.

I'll take Pujols, Holliday, Berkman, Freese against any 4 from Texas EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. Period.

If Texas wins the World Series, you would change your mind about taking Pujols, Holliday, Berkman, and Freese

Anyone who thinks that is an idiot. The Cards are a very good team, and they have the regular season stats and the World Series spot to prove it. The Rangers were certainly the better team this year, but who knows who'll win a seven game series. I'd like Texas' chances a lot better with Hamilton at full strength. At least Beltre seems like he's healthy after resting for 4 days.

People who think that the Cardinals are not very good will think they are a fluke team whenever they win the World Series or not

Rangers are better by what measure? Wins? AL. World Series? Down 1-0.

Sometimes I think you're being purposely dense. I said the Rangers were the better team this season. By what measure? Pretty much every offensive, defensive and pitching measure there is. Also, wins. Also, they were in first place in their division since May or June. I'm not sure how you can argue that at all. By just about every metric you could come up with for the regular season the Rangers come out on top... but that doesn't really mean a whole lot. You know who was a better team than the 2011 Rangers? The 2001 Mariners... and they didn't even make the World Series. You know who was a better team than the 2011 Cards? The 2011 Phillies. How'd that work out for you?

Who knows whether the Rangers will revert to their regular season form and win this series. The Cards aren't here by fluke... they're a very good team, too. Getting beat by them will suck, but not because they're a bad team.

Boy do these announcers want the Rangers to win tonight and are sure of it happening.

Jaime Garcia is making the Texas hitters look foolish so far

He's looked really sharp so far. Aside from the long foul off the bat of Cruz, he's recorded 6 of the easiest outs you'll ever see.

I think Furcal's double was the first one I've ever seen on a ground ball to the first baseman's right side.

Big strikeout of Beltre with 2 on and 2 out in the 4th.

Andrus with a fantastic play to end the 5th. It was almost too fancy, IMO, flipping the ball with his glove to get the force out. He had enough time to make an accurate toss with his hand, I believe. Of course I haven't watched him play all year. Perhaps he makes that glove flip with great accuracy all the time.

Andrus doesn't screw up many of those. I don't think he really had time though from the way he was laying on the ground.

Rangers' lineup is making Garcia look better than he is I think. Wash really needs to sit Hamilton. No way he should be playing right now. He looks absolutely terrible with the bat.

Garcia is a very polarized pitcher. He shows flashes of brilliance but has yet to learn to be consistent at his young age. Also, I noticed that you are almost at 10,000 posts. That would be a nice milestone to hit during the Series.

I don't understand why Hamilton is in the game either. No good can come out of him trying to play through a groin strain in 44 degree weather.

What a coincidence. Ogando vs. Craig, two outs, Freese on 3rd and Punto on 1st. Exact same matchup as last night.
