Little League World Series 2011, August 18-28

Guess who's in it again.....yep, Warner Robbins, Georgia. What is it about that place?

Change from last year: Instead of having 4 pools (2 US/ 2 Intl) of 4 teams each with double-elimination, they are going to a 8-team bracket format on each side with double-elimination. However, the US and Intl championships (and Final) are single-elimination.

Uganda actually won the Middle-East/Africa region but were denied visas to enter the U.S. So Saudi Arabia, as the runner-up, takes their place.

Was waiting for this thread. A team from Tampa almost (and should have) beat WR, GA to get into the Series. That would have been cool for those kids.

Red Dog, I think you got Games 7 & 8 mislabeled. Otherwise, Saudi Arabia-Canada (Game 5) winners play Kentucky-Pennsylvania (Game 8). I know KY and PA are backwards and seem like third world countries, but they're still in the US.

I copied it from somewhere. People can go to the links for more accuracy. The game times and networks are the more important part to me.

Day two's games are 5-6-8-7... the pairings you have are shown in the proper sequence, it's just the labels that are off. It's an easy fix.

My dad told me that a few of his students this year are on the Kentucky team, but he has yet to meet them. He just dutifully marks a big red "A" in the roll call book and moves on.

Warner Robbins may not be so tough this year. LA-Lafayette shut them out. Good game.

I'm thinking Shapiro didn't make it up to Georgia this year before getting incarcerated.

Review system is efficient. That took all of 5 seconds.

Great job by the runner to try to dodge the tag, but an even better play by the catcher to get the tag. Good game.

Who's the PA 3rd base coach? Another fine play by the KY catcher.

The KY pitcher just blew them by....not risking a dirt ball with the game on the line. Nice job.

Perhaps the Canadian kids should switch to hockey.

Know your place, eh? At least you're not Aruba. It really didn't matter.....if it's not a JPN-MEX Int'l Final, I'll be very surprised. One will obviously lose tonight and then crush the losers bracket.

I don't watch a lot of baseball anymore, but the camera work in this series has been great.

Bad baserunning there. Tough to react though. Montana is a surprising team. Beat LA who beat Warner Robbins. Just need one more win to get to the US Final.

Smart play to get the sure out. This should go the distance.
