Im just not comfortable whenever MO pitches to the Sox...

Yeah I wasn't expecting a win last night. Beckett does what he does and I thought for sure Garcia would get tagged. Then again I was also expecting CC to outpitch John Lackey and Jon Lester to outpitch Bartolo Colon and I was expecting Mariano to not be owned by Marco Scutaro. So what the hell do I know?

Yankees are toast. They'll coast to the wild card and maybe even get lucky and win the division... but the only way they're making it to the World Series is if the Sox get upset in the division series. I do think the Yankees can make it to the ALCS though. They've been dominating teams that aren't named the Red Sox.

Garcia is never going to outpitch Beckett at this point in his career but I was impressed he still had enough in him to get out of the bases loaded jam with no outs and only gave up one run.

Re: MLB Monday, August 8, 2011

It's not looking good for Posada. He's being benched at the DH spot... probably to rotate Jeter in there every so often and also keep Nunez and Chavez in the line up until A-Rod returns. Needless to say Posada is unhappy with the situation. Meanwhile I'm unhappy that one of my all time favorite players is having a shit season and is being a baby about it.

Glad San Francisco decided to stop the bleeding.

Hopefully they can take advantage of the Pirates' misfortunes in their series starting tomorrow.

Giants and Pirates combined record for the last 20 games...2-18.

Victorino suspended for 3 games. No Giants suspended. They dodged a bullet there, because Panda definitely took a swing at somebody in the pile.

I don't think Mauer has outplayed another catcher in a game this year.

It's all good, the Giants no taking advantage of the Pirates' misfortunes.

Hell, MLBFan24 said it right, it's like neither the Giants nor the D-Backs are trying to take advantage of each others' massive slip-ups.

As a Giants fan it's pretty annoying. I should be used to it by now.

^Or be happy that they brought the first World Series Championship to San Francisco just last year. Winning year in and year out this day and age is tough business when you have the Yankees, Red Sox and Phillies spending out the wazoo.

Phils are up 4-2 in the eighth and it looks like Stutes has been figured out by the rest of the league. He hasn't been so hot lately

Pirates finally win and snap the 10 game losing streak. Charlie Morton is a difficult pitcher to figure out. Pitched great in April and parts of May. Then stinks for two months before finding a groove again. He has pitched 16 straight scoreless innings I think.

Now I got everyone on here jumping on me for not defending my own team

It is ok to defend your team but the only way to go from winning the Series is down and it happens to everyone. Enjoy the fact that your team won as I still greatly enjoy thinking back to the Cardinals winning it in 06 as there is no telling when it will happen again. Every time that I visit Busch I can do it without wondering if they are ever going to win another title.

Trust me I do. I love AT&T Park and last season was fantastic.

It's just a little frustrating to see the Offense still struggling and going through the same issues (even with 3 new players). I think that's my main annoyance with the Giants (which is why I mentioned I should get used to it, because it's always been an issue)
