Grantland. @ ESPN. Opinions?

So it's been up for over a month.

Anyone have any favorite articles so far?
How has it done @ combining Sports & Entertainment?
Is it a place you visit daily or just once in a while?
Do you imagine it succeeding or failing @ this time?

I really enjoyed the story on "The National" as it was a godsend back in the day.
Remember combing my city to find copies every day.
What a remarkable achievement. I will always remember it.

I think it's tremendous.

ETA: As far as The National, Frank DeFord is a notorious soccer hater so he can die penniless and alone for all I care. Asshole.

I've really been enjoying it. Klosterman's piece on live vs dvr sports was pretty great.

They actually printed his story about the United Tribes Technical College in the local paper here too:

I'll read a few articles over the week. It's definitely a as a whole but not all the writers are good enough to keep my attention for 5000 words.

I like it so far. I have always been a Simmons fan for the most part. He and Whitock's podcast on the Wire a few years ago got me hooked on that show. Anyway, my favs have been Klosterman's articles specifically on Breaking Bad being slightly better than Mad Men, The Sopranos and the Wire. Also Simmons article on movie stars and why Ryan Reynolds isn't one.

Good idea...though I want to see consistency. Kind of an odd branding, I wiki'd it to learn the backstory.
