I'm sure Brewers, Pirates, Cards and Reds fans are hating how they'll have to sweat it out till the end but I'm going to really enjoy that race.

And big series for the Twins start tonight.

Starts today, we have a double header. After these 8 games we should have a pretty good idea if they can hang or not.

I cannot believe the freakin' Braves are hanging around like this. Could possibly be the two best teams in baseball: Phils and Braves.

Re: MLB Monday, July 18, 2011

MLB cuts Ortiz suspension to 3 games... 3 games for charging the mound and throwing punches?

The even more ridiculous part.... Ortiz hadn't even met or talked to MLB... they just reduced it on their own and in a remarkable coincidence just happened to announce the decision after the Rays series and prior to a three game series against Baltimore which allows Ortiz to conveniently drop the appeal and take the series off.

The suspension was announced nearly a week after the incident, so it's not like they didn't have time to research it and decide on the right duration... yet 3 days after announcing the suspension they suddenly decide, oh it's too long - again it's not like they talked to Ortiz and heard his side of the story and said oh we made a mistake on the duration.

Giants keep rolling. If they add one bat, just one, they will be scarier than last year. That pitching staff
from stem to stern is terrifying. They just seem to play so well together and have that intangible "it" factor. I wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs. At all.

Giants already have Cody Ross... why would they need another bat?

Despite beating my Phils, I wouldn't describe the Giants as "scary." They got hot at the right time and the Phils went cold at the precise wrong time.

Funny, that's exactly how I'd describe a scary team - one who gets hot and knows how to win at the right time. I don't give a shit if a team wins 100 games - if you go cold in the playoffs, you are not the better team.
