Enjoy! Last night was a great night for a game, and Jason Vargas threw his third CG SHO of the year with only 106 pitches.

I know I'm getting old when I get excited about a game being over by 9:30.

Re: MLB Independence Day Weekend, July 2-4, 2011

Pirates play a double header today. They have a pretty easy schedule for the first part of July. So they could actually gain some games on the other 3 teams in the Central. The offense still stinks though. It's nice to be talking about games that mean something instead of focusing on the trade deadline of July.

nice win by the Giants after a long rain delay. Right now, Mota is awarded a save but he pitched 3 innings after the Giants were leading 15-0 so I am not sure why they gave him a save just because he pitched 3 innings. He gave up 3 runs for pete sake.

Mariners lose 1-0 to the Padres. The only run got on base when the count got messed up and the batter walked on three balls

^Mariners should have protested that game.

One of the qualifiers of a save is if you pitch the final three innings of a game.

Stupid interleague play. I've really come to hate it this summer. Also, what makes Fox think us folks in the south give a shit about the Yanks/Mets game?

It's the same thing all season.. It's pretty much either the redsox or yankees which get all the fox games.. I mean every nationally televised game.

White Sox 4-1 for the year against the "popular" Chicago team. For once we benefit from another team's offensive woes. Humber settled down nicely and thankfully Thornton didn't wet the bed.

Back at .500 - whod've thunk it?

Should be an easier day for the Jays today after facing Halladay. I mean who else do the Phillies have?

Can't you only protest if you think the rules were misinterpreted or something like that, rather than just someone screwing up? I forgot the exact guidelines around protesting.

It's not looking good early.

But, least we were able to end Lee's shutout streak.

As a Cardinal fan, I was as disgusted as any Twins fan seeing the outcome of that one.

Wow! What a comeback by the Blue Jays! It started so well for Cliff Lee and the Phillies looked on their way to a sweep. Great game by Eric Thames and big HRs by Thames, Bautista and Encarnacion to win it in the 8th.

Congrats to Bautista for getting the most votes for the All Star game!
