I,for one, thought that the New USFL would get off the ground but the guy running the thing has gone into hiding, giving out very little info except Michigan and Mississippi would have teams but no ownership groups were announced.
The UFL doesn't look like it will last much longer. They probably don't have enough money to buy a roll of toilet paper. Mark Cuban is suing them for an unpaid loan.
A spring league could work, with little tv sports competition. Fall would be a different matter. I thought Mark Cuban wanted to start a league. Does Donald Trump want to own a team?
If done right,a CFL expansion into the US would work. Make teams have so many season ticket holders per team as one requirement. Fans need to be educated about the CFL before it could be a success in the States. It worked so well in Baltimore, the Cleveland Browns moved there.

Not surprised. Can't see another one working, like the XFL.

Never again after the disaster of the XFL. No sane business wants to go up against the NFL, there is too much cultural momentum for the NFL.

I watch Arena League football during the summer, and we have a local semi-pro indoor team whose games I occasionally take in.

I could see this more likely happening with the other big 3 sports more than I can with football.

I for one plan on moving all the money I spend on my beloved Bears (none) to support the Bliss.

I used to love the USFL (Philadelphia Stars Fan), as it gave me my football fix every spring/summer. The dumbest thing they ever did (Thanks to egomaniac Donald Trump) is try to go head to head in the fall against the NFL. (And Trump only did that in hopes of merging so he could own a team much like the AFL did in 1970 with the NFL.) If they would have stayed in the spring, I think they could have been successful in the long-run, because the league had alot of great players (Jim Kelly, Steve Young, Herschel Walker, etc.)

There is an audience for spring/summer football out there that could give all football fans their fix year round. But it has to be legit, as you can't have these mickey-mouse type leagues like the XFL run by Vince McMahon. Another USFL could rule Sunday's in the summer as you would only be up against MLB, and the NBA and NHL are usually done by the second week of June.

Everyone forgets that the USFL played an 18 game regular season, you think Goodell and the Owners would bring that up to back their argument

Yup.

Not enough talent, costs too much and no one cares if it is not the NFL. No college kid in his right mind would by-pass the NFL for some other league. The other leagues end up with all the washed up players from the NFL anyway. Never happen, and even if it does it will not last long.

Yep-Donald Trump almost single-handed destroyed the USFL. How were the New Jersey Generals going to play home games at Giants Stadium in the fall if the Jets and Giants also played there? The USFL expanded too fast.
Michigan were very successful at the gate along with Tampa Bay. Michigan would be successful again because Detroit fans are fed up how the Lions never win.
