2011 French Open thread

Even though it looks like we didn't even have a French Open thread at all last year and these threads end up not being very popular here, at least eXcentris will probably post a couple of times.

Clijsters and Woz are both already out on the women's side. The top men seem to be cruising right along for now. Djoko just won his 40th straight match on the year.

Americans have fared very poorly as has been typical in recent years. Mardy Fish was the only American to even make the third round and Gilles Simon sent him packing pretty easily. Siimon will probably get smacked by Soderling, who just now won his match.

Two American and one Canadian women made the third round but all three went out in straights as well.

Re: 2011 French Open thread

You are the 2nd person to seem a tad perplexed by the lack of a French open thread.

We have been discussing it here:

Maybe we should vote: Now that we have a "year" (2011) tennis thread, should we still start separate threads for slams? Either way is good for me, we don't have that much tennis traffic anyway.
