St. Louis set to face their nemesis, Bud Norris of the Astros.

Norris for his career is 16-14 with a 4.82 ERA.

Against the Cards, he's 5-1 with a 2.27 ERA.

Just when the Twins get a little momentum...the AL East comes to town.

Cubs' leading hitter is Starlin Castro at .357. Their fifth-leading hitter is Geovany Soto at .239. Most of their production is coming out of three guys (Castro, ARam, Darwin Barney, though Soriano has a bunch of HR).

Damn, tough loss for Cliff Lee last night. Oh, look! Roy Oswalt gets the next start.

The Twins game has been postponed, that's 3 already. I can't wait to hear them complain about no days off when the start scheduling these things.

*edit, looks like they've actually scheduled a double header for Thursday.

2 game winning streak for the White Sox!

They pinch run Lillibridge for Quentin, and he proceeds to make two game saving catches in the bottom of the 9th to end the game. Nice!

I think the ownership rate in my fantasy league for Mike Leake is 8%. The guy's a stud. 7IP, 2ER, 6K against a potent Brewers offense.

That was awesome. Santos got hit hard but he got it done. Do not experiment with Thornton anymore please. Put him back in the 8th, we got our closer.

It's an unbelievable night to be a Sox/Hawks/Bulls fan.

Re: MLB Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Yankees let another one slip away...

Props to Lillebridge for 2 phenomenal catches back to back to save the game - he might be a better closer than anyone in the White Sox bullpen. I don't see Santos as the answer for Ozzie, I think at some point he will eventually go back to Sale.

How many managers would have a guy 2nd in the AL in HR's bunt in the 9th inning when he represents the winning run? What an idiotic decision by Girardi to just give away an out, especially with how shaky the Chicago bullpen has been (but that's what the book says down a run). I realize it's lefty-lefty and you risk a double play, but Thornton throws nearly all fastballs and Granderson is a good fastball hitter (and a fast runner)... I can't believe he had him bunt.

At least Girardi let Nova go out to pitch in the 7th inning... of course as soon as he passed that mystical 90pitch mark he was yanked (I'm surprised Girardi did not race out to the mound mid atbat to get him when he hit 90 pitches). In fairness, Nova was only working on 8-10days of rest so he probably was completely worn out. And having given up 1ER, well he was clearly teetering on the edge... He was in the guy on first, 1 out "jam"(with the heart of the order due up... meaning the #8 and 9 batters)

Nice game by the Blue Jays in taking 2 games so far from the Rangers.

Dbacks are Philly killers. Yet another solid outing by the Dbacks. Gave up some late runs, but they were inconsequential. Gotta go for the sweep tomorrow.

I know!

I guess we'll test my hypothesis of 'will the Phils ever lose three in a row?' this season.

And really, you can't blame Lee and Oswalt as much as the Phils lack of run production.

Runner on first with Tex on deck and A-Rod in the hole? It was absolutely the right move.

look at my yanks... on close games we have no run production... but when we are winning by 7, we add more runs just to make it fun
