Cleveland and MN are both off today and have home games tomorrow, I don't get why they don't do make-up games right away.

Yeah, that's silly not to just play today.

White Sox fans - is the fire-Ozzie buzz picking up steam yet?

I've got a very good feeling that Boston will be in first before Memorial Day.

Re: MLB Monday, April 25, 2011

So Mo blew his 2nd save in as many chances. I will say this though, he was getting squeezed by the home plate ump, especially in the Brian Roberts AB that led to the game tying double.

I feel that if this happened 2 years ago people would be worried. Now they just know that Mo is Mo and that like any other pitcher he'll go through a dry spell but he's still as close to a machine as you can get.

Re: MLB Monday, April 25, 2011

I had no doubts the Yankees would be where they are... They are pretty loaded. I will admit that Im surprised by the shitty way the Sox started, but I dont think they are going to fall back into that unless injuries derail them. Crawford is just beginning to show signs of life and Gonzalez is starting to heat up. Yeah I dont think you can count on Dice-K and Lackey to continue to pitch as well as they have been lately, but if they can get deeper into a game, that will keep the bullpen fresh.

Re: MLB Monday, April 25, 2011

Yankees defense helping the White Sox offense explode for 2 runs and hand them a win.

Granderson turns a single into a double with a dive on a ball he probably had very little chance to catch for the first run and the second run was setup on a ball where Soriano stands on the mound pointing up at the sky when a very short pop up lands ~2 feet behind the mound that noone (but him) had a chance to get to. (at least he let the infielders know it was a popup though )

If not for the defense, this game might have gone 20 innings the way both teams were hitting.

I was just happy they weren't no hit. Jeter looks so bad at the plate. I don't think this is just an early season slump. He has no pop when he makes contact with the ball. He hit a ball to RF that probably would have left the ballpark in his earlier days and tonight it was an easy fly ball for the RF. It looks like he's declining...fast.

Phillies starting pitchers have given up only 8 HRs this year, which does not include the 2 tonight.

Re: MLB Monday, April 25, 2011

I thought that Granderson should have challenged the right fielder in the ninth and went for two. He ended up staying at first and a few pitches later the double play basically ended all hope.

Would have been even more beautiful if I had him in my fantasy lineup. Figured going against Lee and the Phillies lineup, he'd come out on the short end of things. Instead, he pitched a masterpiece.

Cliff Lee has been exposed. He is the number 4 guy on this Philly staff.

Maybe they didn't realize Lillibridge took over for Quentin. Quentin has a pretty strong arm so they probably wouldn't run on him there, but I don't think Lillibridge has above average throwing.

I was happy to see Humber pitch so well since he is essentially just holding a place for Peavy. But then again, he might be holding that place for a long time.

They should change Alexei Ramirez's number to 02, since he loves being in that count so much.
