Well, if the Red Sox got off to a 3-0 start he might be posting.

He hasn't posted since March 14th, so he might not be dead, but perhaps in a deep coma.

I can't guarantee I'll be creating this thread every day since I do travel a bit for work, so whoever wants to start it is welcome. All I'm doing is going to the page source for ESPN's MLB schedule page and copying and pasting the table code into my posts. It's not that hard, maybe a little tedious, but whatever. huh? always did it this way and I got to liking it, so I kept the tradition going. Anybody is welcome to start these threads.

Twins down 4 through two again, maybe they can mount a good just short comeback again now that the pressure is off.

I guess it's a good thing, but the Twins game is blacked out on DishNetwork. Weak

It's on MLB Network (unless you are getting regional coverage of the Boston/Cleveland game)

Sox (White) up 4-0 Top of the 1st with no outs. I like this offense so far.

Konerko crushed a 3-run bomb over the bullpen in left. Time to cool KC off!

EDIT: Of course - spoke too soon. 4-4 tie.

Duensing really settled down since the early going. Sabathia is pitching really well tonight though.

Re: MLB Tuesday April 5, 2011

Yankees offense is doing what they did the 2nd half of last year.. put up a bunch of runs early and then coast for 4-5 innings while taking a totally different approach at the plate. (They get him to throw over 40 pitches in the first 2 innings and then throws ~60 over the next 5)

And Girardi up 4 goes to Soriano in the 8th

Yeah, I don't get Soriano in the 8th in a 4 run game. He's pitching like a closer in a non save situation. Things getting interesting now.

Mauer at the plate with the sacks jacked. Girardi looks tense.

Re: MLB Tuesday April 5, 2011

Well it's not like Girardi has a lefty specialist with all the left handed pinch hitters and batters coming up.

26 pitches and he leaves him in to face Mauer... why bother have Logan warming up? (to face the righty Young on deck or the right Cuddyer in the hole?)

Bloop single scores all three runners. Nice job boys.

I had CC in line for a win in fantasy too.

Re: MLB Tuesday April 5, 2011

And Girardi blows his first game of the season with his crappy bullpen management... 4 runs on a single, bloop double and a bunch of walks (great job by Swisher sliding unnecessarily instead of just fielding the ball on a hop and preventing the tying run from scoring)

Has a lefty warming up in the bullpen and lets Soriano pitch to 4 consecutive lefties, when it's clear he's struggling with his control and then brings Robertson in when he could have just started the inning with him.

I think you're pretty tough on Girardi a lot of the time, but I have to agree with you 100% on this analysis. Really bad job by Girardi.

Where is starman? He's missing his chance to relish a Twinkie comeback.

Kubel hits Mo again. Leadoff man on, I think you have to bunt here. Really surprised he's not bunting.

Re: MLB Tuesday April 5, 2011

I'm not saying it's easy to hit Mo, but if I were a lefty I would back off the plate 2-3 inches at least. Yes he could back door a cutter to me, but I'd rather not deal with a broken bat.

I think Gardenhire must have thought Morneau (who was on deck) would be walked if the bunt was successful leaving things up to Tolbert (who looked pretty feeble in that AB against Rivera).

I think Kublel's now 5-8 against MO with a walk as well... even though it's a small sample, that's pretty impressive.

Red Sox down to their last out in the 9th, but they have the tying run on base.
