Re: College Hoops, NCAA Tournament Round of 32, March 19-20

Next weekend the real March Madness starts. The first two rounds (or Round 2 and 3 as they are called now) are drummed up by the media the 'greatest thing in sports' but what have we had about 3-4 upsets in the first round?

I start really tuning in around the Ellite 8 when you can see some good College BBall. This is the most overrated weekend in sports. IMO of course

7 upsets, but upsets aren't the only thing that makes the first weekend great. That would be to discount the incredible finishes of games like Kentucky/Princeton, Temple/Penn St., Arizona/Memphis, and UCLA/Michigan St., just because the seeded favorite advanced. It's cramming in 48 games of meaningful basketball across 4 days, each one ending someone's national title hopes. It's the chance to see the little guy take on the big boys in a neutral setting, something they never get a shot at during the regular season.

....and for 364 more days, I don't have to check my cable guide to find where Tru TV is.

Hope there aren't blowouts early given the standalone scheduling.

So I wonder when the last time an 11 seed was favored over a 3 seed?

This is going to be an interesting 2nd half line, regardless of the foul.

Rough breaks for Kentucky to end the half.

I really don't see how that was a foul on UK.

That's quite a last 30 seconds for WVU.

Re: College Hoops, NCAA Tournament Round of 32, March 19-20

Not the best setup, but I certainly wouldn't trade the current arrangement for the previous one. We do get a full 12 hours of basketball today though. Nothing to complain about there.

Now I think having such a late Sunday game (which won't likely tip until 10p) is absurd.

Re: College Hoops, NCAA Tournament Round of 32, March 19-20

what the hell is WVU doing? they realize there was a minute and a half left right? why are they trying for desperation 3s down 4?

This is why Huggins will never win anything.

Anti-climatic ending for a pretty good game.

Mad about what? I have spent quite a bit of time in Kentucky around "Wildcat" basketball fans and they are very grating and have a huge sense of entitlement. Do I have to like them? No! Do I respect them? Yes!
