What do you watch for your sports highlights?

I was talking with friends the other night on how much we all grew up with Sportscenter in the 80's and 90's and how none of us watch it anymore. With so many options today, it has made Sportscenter almost irrelevant these days.

What shows do you watch for your highlights every night/morning?

Thanks!

NHL Network. Most weeks I don't even flip through ESPN.

Re: What do you watch for your sports highlights?

If there's some "can't miss" highlight I'll see it out on ESPN.com or catch it on Sportscenter if I have to. But for everyday highlights I'll watch MLB Tonight on the MLB Network or Football Night in America on Sunday evenings. I don't really watch much NBA highlights unless there's something that needs to be seen and I don't care much for any other sport.

Re: What do you watch for your sports highlights?

I'm more likely to watch highlights online--either at espn or at a team's site. I will have Sportcenter on the tv on occasion, but I hate to wade through a bunch of highlights I'm not interested in.

Re: What do you watch for your sports highlights?

I haven't watched SC in over 10 years. So I don't watch sports highlights unless I see it on PTI or something really special on youtube.

SC is such a joke now with their commentary and top-whatever bullshit. Yes, I've become a curmudgeon.

ESPN's website or ESPNNews, which, except when they're showing SportsCenter, isn't too bad.

Re: What do you watch for your sports highlights?

What no love for The Final Score on FSN?? We've been on for 5 years. Come to think of it, does anyone here watch their local FSN Region regularly? I know most of our viewers don't normally watch our network unless a game is on.

I'm a little biased since I work on the show (I'm the Senior Graphics Producer), but I think our show gets to the point unlike ESPN. No bullshit commentary or fluffy pieces. All we show is the highlights. We actually show alot of soccer as well (EPL, MLS, Spanish Primera, UEFA)

Sportscenter, due to it's convenience. It's on non-stop til 2 in the afternoon.

C'Mon man, Switch over to FOX Sports Wisconsin and try our show. Or at least DVR it. Not sure what time we're on in your region.

Are you serious, you've never heard of our show? Did you ever listen to Andrew Siciliano on ESPN Radio? He fills in for Jim Rome once in a while too. He's one of our anchors (2 nights a week). He plugs his Final Score appearances on his Twitter feed.

We've been on since 2006. Normally we're on 10:30pm every night, but that depends if a game is on and sometimes we get pre-empted.

Go to your DVR and set it to record us tonight.

Here's tonight's TV listing for FOX Sports North, which I assume is your area?. I guess I'm a little biased since I work on the show, but I still can't believe you've never heard of us in the last 5 years. Our show would sometimes follow a Timberwolves or Twins game. Trust me, if you like sports highlights and none of the other nonsense ESPN does, you will like our show.

To be fair, I've only had cable for like 2 months. I switch it to FSN for games and that's about it (but they don't have all the Wild games and most of those are very late, and I tend to flip during commercials). Once the Twins season starts I'm sure I would have noticed it. I'll give it a watch.

I sometimes watch Fox Sports Northwest for local/regional highlights. Otherwise it's fastforwarding through SportsCenter or MLB highlight shows.

Cool fair enough. We will probably follow Twins postgame shows this baseball season in your area. Our show is national, but we are at the mercy of how long the postgame shows for the NBA, NHL or MLB teams lasts (anywhere from 30-45 mins).

Re: What do you watch for your sports highlights?

Yeah, that's probably the other problem, I don't care for the post game shows, and tend to turn it away right after. In baseball season I'll go straight to MLB network.

That's one of the problems that our Producers complain about. The Postgame shows for all these regional teams are too damn long and people who watch our network usually switch the channel once the game is over. The trouble is, ESPN has been on for over 30 years and the mindset of most sports fans is to watch ESPN for highlights. Our show has only been on since 2006 and like you there is still alot of sports fans who don't know about us. I can say this that those who do watch us are generally pleased since we are a national highlights show that gives just that sports highlights, not 4-5 minute pieces on what Brett Favre had for lunch or John Kruk talking about Knee Injuries or Alcoholism in the MLB for 10 minutes.

I actually worked on Minnesota Sports Tonight for FOX Sports North a few years ago (we showed highlights from Minnesota teams and a few national teams). Dick Bremer and Bert Blyleven are really great guys and funny too.

I'm in the same boat as starman, I only watch FSN for the Brewers games. Once the season starts, I'll give your show a look.
