Bradley turned down an undeserved 50/50 split from Khan. He's an idiot, and deserved to lose the fight.

And Khan also offered up a percentage of the UK PPV to Bradley too.

This is a great read. What a Dan Rafael BBQ would be like if all of boxing would attend

So it's now Froch/Ward for the main prize. Froch is a bonafide toughie, but Ward's science should give him the trophy.

Chavez Jr:
Good-Roach sure does wonders with his combination-training, doesn't he?
Bad-That big @$$ head of his sure is an easy target.

Yeah, I would think Ward by slick defense.

Don't worry about it, outside of him, his family and his promotion team, no one ever has been.

Another 10 bell-memorial this weekend.

Fightnews:

We have been told that former world champion Genaro “Chicanito” Hernandez passed away an hour ago. Hernandez was twice a world champion, holding both the WBA and WBC super featherweight belts and compiling a record of 38-2-1 with 17 KOs. He was a game warrior in the ring and fought all the greats of his time including Oscar de la Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. After retirement he stayed in boxing, working as a boxing instructor and doing some television work. He fought a valiant fight for years against a rare form of cancer. He was just 45. Genaro was one of the good guys in boxing and he will be missed. Rest in peace “Chicanito.”
RIP. Always seemed like a great guy.

re: The Official Boxing Thread

Decently action-filled triple-header on ShoBox earlier (Can't complain too much about a card that featured 9 knockdowns) But the big breakout star was Art Hovhannesyan (Like fellow countryman Vic D, another crowd-pleasing swinger)
Haven't seen a fight end via uppercut in a while:

re: The Official Boxing Thread

Uh Oh.

Fightnews:
Lederman to be HBO analyst

For the past 25 years, Harold Lederman has served as HBO’s unofficial ringside judge, posting his own real-time scorecard and providing any rules interpretation that may be needed. Saturday night in Guadalajara, Mexico, Harold Lederman fulfills a long-time goal, when HBO Sports moves him into the analyst position for the opening fight (Adrien Broner vs. Jason Litzau) on the HBO Boxing After Dark telecast. Short one announcer this weekend, Lederman will call the opening bout with veteran blow-by-blow broadcaster Bob Papa. The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds. Lederman celebrated his 25th anniversary with HBO Boxing this past April, having worked ringside as the unofficial HBO scorer for more than a thousand fights. Roy Jones Jr., who is the late-night series lead analyst, will not work the Broner vs. Litzau fight since his promotional company has a relationship with Litzau. Jones will call the main event of Canelo Alvarez vs. Ryan Rhodes on HBO.
Hope this is just a temporary thing. I like Lederman and all, but hearing his voice through a whole fight would be torture.

I've been staying away from all these promotional "24/7-Face Off" shows. It seems that every fight that has one (ala Pac/Margarito,Floyd/Marquez) always ends up being a terrible, one-sided shut-out. I guess I'm just superstitious like that.

Seems to be some media buzz about Vlad/Haye lately. Even though I dislike Haye (Who doesn't?) I wouldn't mind seeing him win. The heavyweight division definetly needs new life.

Man, there once was a time when I would only watch FNF more for the news/discussions than the actual fighting. But that's really starting to change lately. The main events sure have been entertaining for the most part. Last night we saw the birth of a new drunken master, Sebastian Lujan!

BTW, Floyd is looking old all of a sudden. Anybody see his interview with Brian Kenny? I swear I saw white whiskers on his face.

Hoping for a great fight tonight, not that I believe we'll actually see one, but I want to see a Rocky-type fight, lots of landed punches, knockdowns, you name it. Yes I know the way Rocky fights went never really happen.

re: The Official Boxing Thread

Lampley and Merchant practically shitting on the fight made it entertaining. This exchange was great
Lampley: HARD RIGHT HAND BY HAYE
Merchant: that punch didn't really land
Lampley: Sorry, i got excited Larry.

And Rafael on his blog called haye 'the biggest heavyweight fraud in history'. And Haye after the fight complained his right toe hurt and thats why he couldn't land the Hayemaker

re: The Official Boxing Thread

You would have thought Haye would have mentioned his toe between rounds, wonder how pissed those British fans are for traveling to Germany for that snoozefest? When was the last time we had a great Heavyweight title fight? Looking forward to the Khan/Judah fight.
