Re: The 2011 NFL Off-Season Thread

I just called DirecTV. They said they'd give me free Red Zone Channel (which is what I basically want), but they wouldn't offer anything else. Dish is offering a comparable package to the Premiere package I have for about half the price. If they gave me some offsetting credits I would've taken it.

You're probably right, I may be mixing in some Cutler discussions as well.

It's now official. Kolb to Arizona for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd round pick. Kolb gets 5 years/$63 million ($20 million guaranteed) in an extension with the Cards.

Kolb is not worth that much money, he is average at best! Eagles made highway robbery!

I'll ignore the comment, but the rumor for a while has been Vince Young (ugh).

Not happy about giving up a 2nd rounder, but Philly fans, enjoy DRC when he won't tackle anyone for you. He's talented as shit, but he's not physical enough. I hope Kolb works out since that's a shit ton of money to spend on him. At least it'll make Fitz happy enough to stick aroudn.

And you think Asante Samuel is a tackler? Eagles corners are there to cover.

I haven't heard the Vince Young rumors. I'd like Hasselbeck.

We have Asante Samuel. We're already used to that.

Hasselbeck already signed with Tennessee.

I think VY could do a decent job as the backup actually. Eagles have always done an excellent job building QBs, and Vick could play a mentorship role as well.

I'm just saying, DRC was run out of town because he's a horrible physical guy and his work ethic is suspect. I liked him, but he most definitely doesn't fit into the scheme the Cards want to run. He could return to his rookie year form, but he has some glaring holes in his game.

Re: The 2011 NFL Off-Season Thread

Oh yeah, I knew that (Haselbeck).

The Eagles really need to address the LB position. They have nothing and it was a major weakness last year.

What's with the players can officially sign their (new) contracts tomorrow but they can't practice before August 4th? That's kindda silly.

Ocho to New England. That will be entertaining no matter how well it turns out for us.

Ocho just tweeted "God is Good"

Btw, if any Cincinnati fans want to purchase season tickets today, I'm guessing the line will be short

Bears have traded Greg Olsen to Carolina for a player and a pick, neither of which are known right now

I think Fitzgerald wanted Kolb in Arizona. He's a free agent after this season, so I'm sure it was a no brainer for AZ to make the move.

That's also another factor. He's come out and said publicly that he's had no involvement in the choosing of a QB, but you'd have be stupid to think Fitz didn't have some kind of input on the whole deal.
