Rasmus just smoked The Kick's 3-2 pitch to deep center for a slam! Cincy just might be smoldering once the Cardinals leave town.

Happy for the win, but I wish Wagner would get it together again. He was lights out up until a couple weeks ago, and now he's blowing saves left and right.

Yep, he still has the power but no command. He will have to straighten things out if they want to keep it going into the postseason.

Somebody told the Twins before the game that they were in first place and control their own destiny. I wish the bed shitting that ensued was unexpected.

Rangers starting to run away from the Yankees. NY screws up, Michael Young gets out of a run down on 3rd base and then David Murphy follows that up with a bases loaded single. I love this team so much.

Padres having fun with the Pirates tonight. Can't wait for the big Padres/Giants series this weekend.

Re: MLB Wednesday August 11, 2010

- Lee knocked out after 6.1IP, his shortest outing since May - though up until the moment he was knocked out you'd think he was throwing a shutout the way ESPN was calling it.
He pitched pretty well, and is no doubt one of the elite pitchers in the game today, but ESPN was out of control with the superlatives. Particularly Suttcliffe... who's quickly catching up to Berman as the ESPN baseball guy who makes you want to puncture your ear drums. The guy actually raved how Molina came out to the mound and was involved in the discussion when the Ranger pitching coach visited Lee on the mound... what catcher doesn't go to the mound when the pitching coach or manager comes out? Sutcliffe made it sound like this was some unique credit to Maddox being a great pitching coach or Molina being a great veteran.
Hard to believe with Thames anchoring the #3 spot in the lineup, 1/3 of the starters out on Tues and Vazquez and Burnett pitching against the top 2 Rangers starters that they'd come out of this with a split and had a decent shot at taking both

I got to the game late since the friend I was with got sick and had to go back home. I was finding my seat just as Quentin homered. I was 5th row behind the Sox bullpen.
We got the outing we needed from Danks and saved most of the bullpen.
