I was there ten minutes before. There was no fog. The sun was behind him at that point. That section of Hawthorne Blve. is steep and curvy. You have to pump your brakes occasionally. I've coasted through that section and reached over 75MPH before braking. There are a couple of runaway truck areas on the side of the road.
Either excessive speed, distracted driving, or impaired driving had to be the cause.

Many of the wealthy including celebrities don't have chauffeurs. I doubt that very many do.

According to a local news (Oregon) item I saw, he was headed to golf with Drew Brees and Justin Herbert.

It sounds like this crash caused compound fractures in his legs but I know he’s had multiple back surgeries over the years, including fairly recently. I can’t imagine being thrown around in a crashing car like that would be very good for his back.

Thinking about it more, if Tiger was provided the car to drive that week just to promote the Genesis golf tournament, he may not be completely familiar with how it drives and could explain him over-correcting into a ditch.

Have to imagine his golf career is over between this and his previous back surgeries. Too bad, but he’s lucky to be alive.

Tiger is only 45. I know he's made millions over the years, but if he chooses to, I think he could take 2-3 years off to rehab and heal from these injuries and still come back at 47 or 48. It's not impossible.
