Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

I've been hoarding RB's that may or may not start this week.

I need to pick 2 from this list:

Matt Forte vs Green Bay
-Yeah he's a vagina but I'm always hesitant to sit someone who can give me 50-80 yds and a TD.

Michael Turner vs. Saints
-An obvious choice if he's healthy but he's currently listed as questionable. I don't think I want to risk it. Does anyone know if Atlanta plans on starting him?

Chris Brown vs. Seattle
-Didn't get many touches last week but it is a weak Seattle D. I just don't know if they're starting him or Moats.

Justin Forsett at Houston
-Coach says he'll be a bigger part of the offense this week. Always good news for fantasy owners.

Kevin Faulk at Carolina
-Don't know who will get the start for the Pats but I do know that Maroney has been playing pretty well.

Quintin Ganther at Oakland
-My opponent has Rock Cartwright so I nabbed Ganther from him before he could. Oakland has a weak run defense and Ganther is starting. It's a gamble but it might payoff.

Right now I'm leaning towards Forte and Forsett. Pierre Thomas is my other RB. Sucks that Turner is hurt but if I can make it past this week Turner should be back and close to 100%.

I also just noticed how much of a prick the #1 seed in my league is. He had the #1 seed locked up for 2 weeks so last week, in the last game of the season he scores only 60 points because he rested all his starters.

wouldn't that be an illegal lineup unless it is yahoo?

those are tough choices.

Maybe Ganther since Raiders suck against the run and everybody is beating Steelers so I doubt the Raiders turned the corner and are a good team again.

Forte maybe if the Packers have a MNF hangover and bears usually play well against the Packers even when they are a sucky team.

It's gotta be McCoy. He already had a good game against the Giants this year and you know he's getting the ball, whereas you can't count on Bush even touching the ball.

What do you think? Meachem or M.Austin vs SD. I have Austin in at the moment, but it's hard sitting Meachem after last week.

Thanks. Had Harvin starting in my playoff game today, switched to Manningham over Burleson. Good choice?

For Smith or Meacham, I'd pick Meacham, but partly because I'm hoping for this week to be Manningham's turn for NY.

Thanks. Benched Ryan. My options are Cassell, Campbell, or Alex Smith. I'm thinking the later two of course, but am leaning towards Smith just to have something to root for Monday night.

Yeah, I got him in a steal of a trade early in the year. People have no patience.

I'm absolutely killing today. Playing for a 1st round bye and looking good (T.Jones, A.Johnson, J.Charles). Played Charles over MJD and it paid off big.

My other team that's on a bye is having an even bigger day (Shaub, Charles, Grant, Marshall, Feely...and I still have Fitzgerald left to play).

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

I picked wrong on both choices.

Sat Reggie Bush (19 pts) for McCoy, and sat Collie (9 pts) for Devery Henderson (3 pts).

it seems like Leonard Weaver is getting all the carries now.

Will Dwayne Bowe return from his suspension in week 14 and face the Browns?

I need a big night from Alex Smith. Down 6.7 vs. Fitz. That's going to be very tough.

Had a good week. Went 3-0, unless Fitzgerald gets -10 points tonight, won first round of playoffs in one, and secured playoffs in the other two leagues.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

Rodgers/Jennings/McCoy/Meachem/Shockey pretty much screwed me in one of my leagues. Put up 50 points and needed a win to make the playoffs. I'll end the season 8-6 tied for 3rd place but be 5th in overall points scored. Tomlinson, R. Williams, and the Minny D played all right. 11 field goals from the cardinals tonight and I got it.

So 2 for 4 as far as playoffs go. Worst record is 7-7, best record is 8-5-1. In most of the leagues I was in the best team had no more than 10 wins, and the worst team had at least 5. Very tight year for FF.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

Yeah, I noticed a very tight year in all my leagues as well. Going down to the final week, only 1-2 teams in each league had a playoff spot secured, everyone was bunched up at 6-8 to 8-6.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

Feeling bad that I traded someone Kevin Smith. Obviously I had no control over it, and he wanted Smith after I initially offered him Forte, but still.

Had Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and Ray Rice and missed out on high points to the Chris Johnson owner (like 150-148). At least we also get credit for second-high points.

Same in ours. Two spots clinched, a bunch clustered together, and a couple eliminated just a game or two back.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

Finally my playoffs start next week...I need to choose 3 of the following

Arian Foster vs. STL
Joseph Addai vs. JAC
Quinton Ganther vs. NYG
Justin Forsett vs. TB
Antonio Bryant vs. SEA

Right now...I think I'm leaning towards Addai, Gnather and Bryant. Foster's matchup is so nice though and Kubiak said that Foster will be showcased the final 3 weeks. Ganther vs. NYG...I dunno and Forsett vs. TB is tough since he is definately splitting with Jones.

Never would've thought I could win with only 15.4 from Alex. I'll take it though. Survive and advance.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009 ptII

Ended up w/ 175.75 pts with my team that's on a bye. I'll probably score 60 in the first round next week.

I hear ya. I had a decent scoring week as the 2nd seeded team with a bye, even outscoring the #1 seeded and highest scoring team in our league should we have played each other. Hopefully my guys will follow up with another strong effort next week.
