Yeah, there are actually a lot of options for them at 3rd.

I just see him being an easy choice, good fielder, has pop (in the 7-8 spot he'd be grand hitting 270ish with close to 30 HR).

Ugh. Terrible umpiring there. Strike 1 was 6" outside. Strike 2 was a foot outside.

For Santana? If they did, they wouldn't get Sabathia. Also, the Mets did not the same Santana that pitched great for the Twins. And, Hughes did very well for the Yanks this year, just not in the postseason so far.

Santana has been great for the Mets. The NY media has just been bitter against him for not going to the Yanks for some strange reason.

I agree with the not getting Sabathia point though.
