Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

I had Johnson today and still might lose the game thanks to Greg Jennings sending a big 0 to the board and Hasslebeck getting knocked out in the first half. The extra 12 points Roethlisberger got over 'beck really would have helped.

current game situation:

me (100 pts)- Joseph Addai yet to play

opponent (99 pts)- Ahmad Bradshaw in play, Colts D yet to play

Schaub did well for me this week. What happened with Jennings? His was listed as probable and got no game time.

Ok.....Manningham was a stud tonight.

Drop Hester, Gage or Michael Bush for Manningham?

No brainer.

Crabtree...even if he signs will not be effective. Shaun Hill is a game manager, not a difference maker, meaning Crabtree might have some exceptional games, but it will never be consistent.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

I'm dumping Hixon to try for Manningham. Not much else out there: Mark Clayton, Kenny Britt, Johnny Knox, Laurent Robinson.

I'm 0-2 and really need Marshall or someone to step up as my #2 so I then rotate my #3s (Evans, Berrian, Gage). Some points for Forte would help too.

Saints WR Lance Moore left Week 2 at Philadelphia with a hamstring injury and did not return. He did not have a catch in the game.
As I said before - feast or famine. Looking like all famine. Not getting looks from Brees and now a bad hammy. He might be my first drop in my one league. I was forced to start him yesterday since I also have Bryant and Walter who didn't play.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

So what are your thoughts on this trade offered to me. Ronnie Brown & Roy Williams for Steve Smith? This league is from my work and we only got 8 people to sign up so all the teams are pretty stacked. My current RBs are Marion Barber, Matt Forte, Fred Jackson, Julius Jones, Mike Bell & Lendale White. WRs are Andre Johnson, Santonio Holmes, Lee Evans & Earl Bennett. I have to admit that if Marion Barber ends up being hurt for a period of time and with Fred Jackson giving up carries to Lynch when he comes back that it's pretty tempting to me to have Ronnie Brown, but giving up Steve Smith for Roy Williams...not soo much.

How many of each do you start? 2 RB, 3WR?

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

It's 3 WRs, 2 RBs and one slot where you can start a RB or WR.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

In a stacked league, trading quality for quantity is almost surely a bad move.

Man.

I'll be 0/2 after this week after Jennings and Hasselbeck laid eggs.
Good news for me -- I have Chris Johnson on my team.

The bad news -- I also have Hasselbeck

I lost, but at least Johnson (and Colston, to a lesser extent) kept me respectable.

How many teams in your league, JasonF? For the number of players you guys play, your team seems really stacked (except at QB)...

It is 8 players. Head to head, which means I play everyone else twice each.

Hey! I'll have you know that in addition to the two guys I started, I have Kyle Orton and Shaun Hill on my bench. The four most powerful arms in the NFL on one team!

Actually, though, I'm dropping Shaun Hill for Chad Pennington. Not that I think it will be much of an improvement -- will Pennington even have a job next week? I'm definitely hurting at QB -- and to a lesser extent at DEF, which matters in this league (the standard Yahoo points for defensive stats have been upped considerably). Tennessee and Washington are so-so, but my only other viable options from the free agent list are Seattle and NO.

why wouldn't pennington have a job next week? other then making me 0-2 in my league with that game ending INT he managed the game fine and made throws that his recievers blew coughGINNcough

Someone panic dropped Lance Moore. I went ahead and dropped Camarillo and picked him up. Can't help but improve my team.

Last chance for Dolphins' Pennington?
By Mark Miller

Word is that tonight's game between the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts could be the last chance for Chad Pennington(notes) to prove himself to the folks in Miami.

Football fans in Florida are tiring of Pennington, according to the National Football Post. After all, the guy has six turnovers in his last two games, including five interceptions, and just two touchdown passes. Plus, he was sacked seven times.

Rumor has it that if he can't start delivering some big plays under pressure this evening, the team will turn to Chad Henne(notes).
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/p...urn=nfl,190849

Did he do well enough against the Colts to earn himself next week's start?

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

I lost by .21 points in one league because the Titans usually tough defense turned into the Detroit Lions for a day. Fuck, I would have done better with the Lions.

I hate the scoring in that league with the goddamn half points.
