Now I know why Arlen Spector hasnt threatened to investigate the NFL lately. He was promised a Philly/Pittsburgh Superbowl!

If we get an Eagles vs. Steelers Super Bowl matchup, the entire state of Pennsylvania--along with half the state of New Jersey and the easternmost counties of Ohio--will be turned upside down and then some. We're talking two of the top five most passionate NFL fan bases in the USA, period.

Mind you, we'll get all the usual arguments about which is better, Philly cheesesteak or the famous Primanti Brothers cheese steak, though.

By the way, I rate both games as "pick'em" because:

1) Both the Steelers and Ravens have very strong defenses, which means a low-scoring game that could go either way.

2) While the Eagles are playing extremely well lately, the Cardinals are formidable playing at home.

I don't hate the Steelers but they better not win 6 Lombardi Trophies!!

I am a Niners fan and I need something to feel good about this decade.

I hope it is the Eagles vs Ravens and McNabb finally wins a ring and gets all his haters off of his back.

Philly fans will rue the day Kevin Kolb becomes the starter.

the worst matchup for NBC would be Cardinals vs Ravens

I could see the Ravens blowing them out by at least 20 points.

I'm rooting for either AFC team to win it all. I can't stand the Eagles and am indifferent towards Arizona. My guess for the SB would be Eagles vs. Ravens with Baltimore taking it.

Forget the "haters". If the Eagles win then hopefully their hating fans will SHUT UP!

PA Civil War
Eagles v. Steelers

(By the way, Primanti Bros doesn't make a cheesesteak. Those Squeeler fans wouldn't know a decent sandwich if it slapped them in the head.)

Steelers/Cards

Steelers 26
Ravens 10

Cardinals 31
Philly 13

I think the home teams are going to win these games decidedly.

Seems a bit goofy that Philly at Arizona is the early game and the East coast game is the late one. 100% TV ratings based.........

If it's Eagles/Steelers, can we move the Super Bowl to Beaver Stadium in State College and play in real football weather?

Maybe, but they know what a Lombardi Trophy looks like

Re: 2009 NFL Playoffs Thread -- Conference Championships, Jan 18th

none of the games in the playoffs were played in blizzard like conditions or heavy snowfall which was disappointing.

Steelers vs Chargers was light snow.

I would root for the Ravens after the Eagles.

I prefer if the Cardinals did not win it.

I think they rotate the championship game schedule

last year in 2008 the AFC game was the early game and in 2007 the AFC game was the late game.

maybe they could have pushed the Cardinals game to 1pm Pacific because they are a West Coast team.

I thought they stuck to a regular schedule for the conference championships. 1 PM and 4:30 PM EST. Didn't they use to do this?
