Jeez, how would you like to be attacked by this?

I think this pic alone will convince fans that Valero is must-see TV (He's now 27-0-27, BTW)

Fightnews:

Arreola-Adamek is on

A press conference has been called to announce an April 24th heavyweight showdown between Cris Arreola (28-1, 25 KOs) and Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KOs). The bout will take place at the new Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. It wil be Arreola’s second fight at the arena. The event will be billed as “Ring of Fire” and be televised on HBO BAD.
Very interesting match-up.

Re: The Official Boxing Thread - 2008 and beyond!

This year has been dismal regarding any named fighters. I don't believe I have seen one bout since December. I have something from Showtime a couple of weeks ago but haven't watched it yet.

^Have to wait next month for another highlight fight (Next round of the Super Middle tourney)

Anyone catch Showtime's "360" show about the tournament? I only caught some of it (During the recap of Taylor/Froch) but it looked intriguing.

Yeah, his last two fights were at heavy (1 KO, 1 decision win) He always showed a great chin at Cruiser and his precision and quickness could give actually give Cris some fits....But Arreloa's one of the best knockout guys in the division. It'll be interesting to see what will prevail.

Sorry, 12 years too late!

At least this weekend, we have both HBO & Showtime boxing. Planning a BBQ around it!

I hope nobody buys this Mosely/Mayweather crap. Mayweather was such a puss on PTI today - would not even talk about not fighting Manny.

Actually, I hope that nobody buys the Pacquaio / Clottey crap. At least Mosley has a chance to beat the crap out of Mayweather on May 1st. And yes, I will be buying that one!

It will probably be the last PPV I buy as I am dropping AT&T U-Verse in May (since 90% of everything I watch is prime time programming which I have been recording OTA on my HDTV dual tuner). I will miss the HBO boxing though.

Though, I'm hoping that they will open up their new video on demand website to non subscribers for a small fee and show HBO BAD.

Uhhh, Floyd-Shane is the 2nd biggest fight that can be made in boxing. So while it's not Manny, it's certainly no slouch and should be tremendous.

According to FNF last night, it's just a rumor. But if Tyson does come back, it'll be against someone else.

Anyone know what the co-feature on tonight's Showtime card is?

^Yeah, I guess that's it. New/unheard-of guys are just coming out constantly.

Wonder if Vic's power returns back at Jr. Fly.

Re: The Official Boxing Thread - 2008 and beyond!

I ended up watching the Showtime card (Had to remind myself that Urango will never be able to beat fighters in the top 10) Show's announcing team thought Zappa/Angulo was a robbery, but when it comes to the judges, the more aggressive fighter has a better chance of winning instead of the guy who chooses to clinch for a thousand times.

Re: The Official Boxing Thread - 2008 and beyond!

The undercard for Pac/Clotty looks okay.

Alfonso Gomez vs J.L. (Shot) Castillo

John Duddy (Can he rebound? lol)

But Humberto Soto/David Diaz might be a real solid scrap.

I'm still surprised that the Dallas stadium went through in promoting this.

Re: The Official Boxing Thread - 2008 and beyond!

I heard that Dallas Stadium is within 4,000 or so of selling out. So, there are people out there that really want to see the main attraction. I'm not one of them. They could lower the PPV price to $39.99 and I wouldn't buy this one.

I will buy the the Mayweather vs Mosley fight on May 1st.
