Loses 267-263 to Patrick Allen. Great match. Clutch rolling by Allen at the end to put the pressure on.

I've bowled for 20+ years now and seen a ton on TV and have never seen that particular washout left.

And what's worse is that the biggest tool on the tour, Patrick Allen, gets his second title gift wrapped to him this month.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Well, I've been a straight bowler for years, just using whatever house ball I could find, but I finally took the plunge last night and got a real ball and am trying to convert to the correct style. My first series was pretty brutal, but I improved every game at least. I tell you what, getting a strike the correct way feels so much better than getting one by hoping pin action and brute force takes care of it for you.

PDW in the TV Final today. Fitting since it is the Dick Weber Championship. Great TV final group overall.

Heck of a 2nd match for Fagan, it looked like these lanes were going to be much stingier.

Yeah, took him time to figure them out, and he's really got it going now.

Man, how did that pin not fall? That should do it. Fagan on fire again.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Yeah, that sucked, it would have been nice to have some pressure on Fagan.

and now he gets the 10 to fall...

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Man, Duke is just a stud.

I wonder if the guy who yells "pick it up!!!" on every spare also goes to golf tourneys and yells "get in the hole!!!"

Fagan looks like he got rattled by Norm.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

It's over. Lot to ask for a relative newb, to go through Barnes, Shafer, Weber, and Duke on television.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Jesus - I don't think I've ever seen someone win by triple-digits in a tv match before, let alone a championship match.

"I was looking at your girlfriend while I was bowling. Sorry."

Fagan bowled a game I can roll.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Yeah, I could have beaten Fagan...though I don't think my lame ass game would have made him streak his pants the way duke did.

Talk about a dominating performance.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Some ugly bowling today at The Masters. Not as bad as the camera work though. I don't know who devised the camera angles for this because it's hard to see anything on the right lane.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

The newb wins. Not bad for your first title - $60K and a 2-year exemption.

Wes Malott is bitching about it - enough that he is skipping the event.

http://www.theolympian.com/sports/to...ry/761767.html

“I’m not a huge fan of it (the format), to be honest,” said Wes Malott, 32, who leads the PBA standings but won’t compete in Wheat Ridge. “They’re taking away the technology the sport has embraced. Nobody’s asking Tiger Woods to use a wood driver or Roger Federer to use a wood racket. It’s not how you control the advancements in our sport.”
Well, Wes, maybe those tours should do those things. It's just one event. Get over it. Oh, and you're not Tiger Woods or Roger Federer.

Re: Official PBA and Bowling Discussion Thread

Considering he started out with an open frame, 269 is damn impressive.
