Why did they throw things on the Court? Was there a bad call that precipitated it or just because they were getting beat?

I think there was only one beer thrown on the court. Not really a big deal or anything to get riled up about, and nothing happened on the court. Probably just one dude being a dick.

Oh, when people said they were throwing shit, I assumed it was quite a few people. One beer is nothing.

LAKERS SIGN IRA NEWBLE
March 21, 2008

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent forward Ira Newble to a 10-day contract, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

Newble, currently in his eighth NBA season, most recently played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Seattle Supersonics, averaging 4.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 15.5 minutes in 43 combined games this season, including 13 starts.

Prior to playing in the NBA, Newble played in the International Basketball Association for the Wisconsin Blast (1997-98) and played in the CBA with the Idaho Stampede from the 1997-98 season through the 1999-2000 season.

Undrafted by an NBA team, Newble played two seasons with Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College before attending Miami (OH) University, where he averaged 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds in 58 games over two seasons, while being named Honorable Mention All-Mid American Conference his senior year.

In 374 career games including 197 starts, Newble is averaging 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 20.4 minutes.

The Lakers roster now stands at 15.

Boston, here we come!

Argh.. Lakers never learn about defending the 3. Down by one after climbing back from a 25 pt deficiet and you don't guard the 3?

Lakers looking like crap again vs the Warriors. Kobe taking stupid shots, and shooting 4-14 so far.

Yeah, he coughed up the rebound and then Turiaf turns it over. A 8 point Lakers lead is now 1 with 9 seconds left and Odom at the line where he misses one.

Lakers up two with Davis at the line. Looks like we might see OT. Better then Jackson getting a chance to win it with a 3.

Fisher misses the shot, we're headed to OT.

I am calling the final of Warriors 122 Lakers 119.

Either Golden State is lucky, very good, or the Lakers are terrible and really out of synch. This can't be the same team that beat Dallas and Utah.

Not having a guy like Bynum or Gasol is huge when playing a team like GS.

Kobe's taking some terrible shots at the end of the 4th and start of OT. But it's hard to blame him when Luke, Ronny, and now Sasha have such terrible turnovers.

Lakers just aren't finishing. The loss last night, came from behind, then went to sleep. Took the lead in this game, then took a nap.

They will lose this game and again fail to increase the lead over the Suns. They are lucky they haven't fallen into the 4th or 5th spot.

Even the Lakers can't blow a 4 point lead with 3 seconds left.

to Golden State though, I would not want to face them in the first round (which the Lakers may very well end up doing). There was a reason they upset Dallas last year, they are for real. They just have to watch out because Denver is what, a half game behind them now?
